Your birthday is the celebrations of the day you appear on earth...but you cannot deny that you were living and growing many months prior to that day...I do understand that you believe the mother to be the only one to make the decision about whether or not the birth takes place....such a decision should be made with a complete understanding of what that decision means...and that should be more than simply is it a "wanted or unwanted" child... Something is wrong when the number of abortions per year are hundreds and hundreds of thousands....

TOP, I do understand that there is growth during a pregnancy of something that at some point will be a living human. And I very much would like to recognize aspects of that in the conversations here. But the other side is still insisting that a dividing cell from the moment of conception...is a living human. And the other side is still insisting that those of us who want to show regard for the rights of women to make choices...are murderers or abettors of murderers.

A whole shitload of changes have got to be made by the anti-choice people before many of us on this side of the question will ever start with concessions.

Time for the anti-choice side to realize that...and start to make the adjustments.

As for the number of abortions...realistically speaking, they are what they are. YES...better, cheaper, and more available methods of contraception have got to be developed...and better lessons about the need for their use have to be introduced. I hope that happens. But many of the people advocating against choice...are the same people refusing even to allow literature that describes sexual activity...and how one can be safe from disease and safe from having an unwanted pregnancy.

The anti-choice segment is a huge part of the problem of too many abortions.

Both sides need to adjust somewhat...I agree.... There is no lack of inexpensive birth control...and how to use it...no lack of info on safety when it comes to sexual activity...Unless you live 100 miles from civilization, and I guess then it would be more difficult to obtain...but not impossible...
People need to be more responsible...and stop blaming others for the "accidental pregnancies"...If you want women to be the only ones making the decision, hold them entirely responsible for having to make that decision...And that's not fair, is it?

Exactly. The ridiculous shaming about sexuality makes young ppl unwilling to ask questions or visit clinics. Europe is a lot more enlightened. Maybe the forced-birthers would be happier in a country in Africa? They appear to either not have been tallied, or have none.

I understand that you sincerely believe this, Arby, but the real choice is whether or not to force a woman to bear a child that she doesn't want,

but equally cruel,

also force a person to be brought up as an unwanted child. That really sucks in comparison to the mercy of being aborted.

Again, the REAL motivation is obvious in any case.

If the fetus is aborted, then the NRA nuts don't get the opportunity to shoot the kid in school.

Reichnuts and trumpanzees LIVE to shoot school children, and the more that are aborted as fetuses,
the fewer the Reichnuts can gun down with their AR-15s.

Take away abortions, and the federal government will be forced to implement stricter gun controls so
the NRA Christian conservatives won't murder as many children.

Here's the reality for conservatives: the more fetus that are aborted, the less likely you'll go to prison for shooting up a school.
It's a win-win.

I am not advocating for it to be used as birth control.

But the government should have no more say over whether a woman can obtain an abortion than it should over whether a man must or must not be circumcised.

I don't know or care to know specific names, Arby.
I know their internet user names;

and if they're real people and not made up for laughs internet characters,
pretty near every one of them has to be regarded
as a serious probability to shoot up a school full of young kids.

The moral level matches too perfectly.
In fact, they have all the requisite deficiencies--
the deficiency in morality, the deficiency in intelligence, the deficiency in sanity, and the deficiency in social acclimation.
Just read their posts.
I'm sure that they dream of slaughtering kids--just about all of them.
