We've gotta stand with our North Korean allies

Dixie, the woman is not qualified. She did not reduce government up here, she grew it every chance she got and put unqualified friends into state positions! She is mostly cliches and very little substance. She is out of her league and why you stubbornly refuse to see this is beyond me. I would vote for a Republican woman for President if she only had a brain to govern this nation. I do not think Sarah is this woman. She has a whole lot to learn about the USA.

Alaska is the easiest to govern state in the world. You just sit back, spend as much as you want, don't tax, and let the oil wealth float in. In reality the government spends more per capita than any other state government. And the people are happy just sitting around, thinking it's so great to have that small government and low taxes. Ignorant proles.

LOL - still trotting out 57 states?

Frankly, that's pretty embarassing. Nearly 2 years have gone by, and you're still going w/ the same gaffe?

I honestly think that's one of the saddest things I've seen here....

Yeah, but its a doozie.....Most second graders know how many states there are and here is the leader of the Democratic party talking stupid....

and then he goes on to say he has ONE more state to visit and names two........Alaska A N D Hawaii.....

But I agree ----its is sad to have a nitwit as your leader.....thank God we Conservatives never had to experience that disgrace....

Mission accomplished?

Oh, my lord - what an insufferable hack you've become.

You're comparing a gaffe like "57 states" to hanging a banner that declared "Mission Accomplished" about 7 years before the war actually ended?

What an idiot.

IF it was a 'mis speak', and I would seriously doubt it, she has proved once again that she is incompetent at best and a liability to the credence of the United States at most.
Accepting the mis speak she is clearly incapable of measuring her words, incapable of running a sentence through her brain before it falls from her mouth.

But no. That wasn't a mis speak. That was absolute, unadulterated ignorance from a woman who hasn't got a clue about life outside her braindead tea party membership.
The worry is not her though. She will self destruct. The worry is the millions of Americans who are unable to get both brain cells working for long enough to realise they are mentally challenged.
Even now they are scanning their atlases to find what career is being referred to at the same as time sharpening their guns.

So they're "sharpening their guns", huh?
:palm: :palm: :palm:

You've got a lot of balls to call anyone else stupid.

I thought you had said before that Bush was a "clown"?

Oh, yeah - of course. You adore him. I forgot.

One "mission" is not a war, you buffoon....:fu:

Look at the little koolaid guzzling hack try to make apologies for "mission accomplished."

Go grab a vat of some pumpkin koolaid on this fine Thanksgiving day, bravo. Guzzle it on down....

good lord this woman is stupid...i don't have sound, so i looked up the text:

"This speaks to a bigger picture here that certainly scares me in terms of our national security policy," the former vice presidential candidate said on Wednesday. "But obviously we've gotta stand with our North Korean allies."

The host corrected her. "South Korea," Beck said.

"Eh, yeah. And we're also bound by prudence to stand with our South Korean allies, yes," Palin responded.

um...."also"....so is she still saying NK is our ally

seriously, like i keep saying, when she is on the mic....she is dumb, she should never be a political leader, she can be a mouth piece for whatever she wants to mouth off for....but i seriously hope pubs don't think she should lead the party
So are you, but she was a Governor and is making millions of dollars and is quite a Celebrity, speechmaker and TV personality ...and you're just stupid just like Onceler...

That might make sense if she hadn't been speaking about the evils of North Korea for two paragraphs before the mispeak.

Nothing says "I'm a hack" like not listening to what is supposed to be a negative piece because a republican speaks in it... even with the attempt to take it out of context it is an obvious mispeak. If this is the best you can do, you aren't trying very hard.

She wasn't a governor that was worth much and she quit when the going got tough! She doesn't like to be criticized and she holds grudges. This is no one I want in charge of our military! We had that version recently and it got us into a lot of financial poop poo!

Bravo, Low is not stupid, and in my opinion he has the brains to be able to call Sarah stupid, as do you. If you got her into a room and started asking her some of the questions you ask on here, her head would explode! I don't understand why you cut her so much slack?

She can promote herself and throw kernels to the crowd, but do you really believe she has any substance? knows the issues, cares?

I have talked to people here in Alaska who supported her, but later when they got to know her, regretted that decision. These are highly respected people here in Alaska that range from radical right to almost left. The late Wally Hickel was one of those fine gentlemen, who recently passed away, so you won't be able to verify my story, but I got to rub elbows with Wally when I was volunteering for Bill Walker. I voted for Wally every chance I got. The same with Jay Hammond. Two fine Republican politicians who walked the walk, and talked the talk and were fiscally conservatives, but socially responsible! Wally Hickel had 16 children! Jay Hammond fought for the Native Americans and their rights to the resources of Alaska.
I support Republicans when they have their eyes on the people they represent. Sarah talked the talk, but she is as fickle as a fart in a chinook!

1) I don't think BUSH hung that banner.
2) The "mission" those people were on, was indeed accomplished.
3) It's often a phrase used by military people headed home.
4) The 'mission' of toppling Saddam Hussein was complete.
5) Did I mention Bush didn't hang the banner???

Other than the "57 states" gaffe, here are other Obama Greatest Hits..

May 2008-- Speaking to a crowd about a recent tornado in Kansas: “In case you missed it, this week, there was a tragedy in Kansas. Ten thousand people died — an entire town destroyed.” The actual death toll: 12.

May 2008-- In front of a roaring Sioux Falls, South Dakota audience, Obama exulted: “Thank you Sioux City…I said it wrong. I’ve been in Iowa for too long. I’m sorry.”

May 2008-- On why he was trailing Hillary Clinton in Kentucky, Obama again botched basic geography: “Sen. Clinton, I think, is much better known, coming from a nearby state of Arkansas. So it’s not surprising that she would have an advantage in some of those states in the middle.” On what map is Arkansas closer to Kentucky than Illinois?

Obama has as much trouble with numbers as he has with maps. March 2007, on the anniversary of the Bloody Sunday march in Selma, Alabama, he claimed his parents united as a direct result of the civil rights movement:

“There was something stirring across the country because of what happened in Selma, Alabama, because some folks are willing to march across a bridge. So they got together and Barack Obama Jr. was born.”

Obama was born in 1961. The Selma march took place in 1965.

May 2008: in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, Obama showed off his knowledge of the war in Afghanistan by honing in on a lack of translators: “We only have a certain number of them and if they are all in Iraq, then it’s harder for us to use them in Afghanistan.” The real reason it’s “harder for us to use them” in Afghanistan: Iraqis speak Arabic or Kurdish. The Afghanis speak Pashto, Farsi, or other non-Arabic languages.

May 2008: (It was a popular month) In Oregon, Obama pleaded ignorance of the decades-old, multi-billion-dollar massive Hanford nuclear waste clean-up:

“Here’s something that you will rarely hear from a politician, and that is that I’m not familiar with the Hanford, uuuuhh, site, so I don’t know exactly what’s going on there. (Applause.) Now, having said that, I promise you I’ll learn about it by the time I leave here on the ride back to the airport.”

I assume on that ride, a staffer reminded him that he’s voted on at least one defense authorization bill that addressed the “costs, schedules, and technical issues” dealing with the nation’s most contaminated nuclear waste site.

"UPS and FedEx are doing just fine, right? It's the Post Office that's always having problems." –attempting to make the case for government-run healthcare, while simultaneously undercutting his own argument, Portsmouth, N.H., Aug. 11, 2009

"The reforms we seek would bring greater competition, choice, savings and inefficiencies to our health care system." --in remarks after a health care roundtable with physicians, nurses and health care providers, Washington, D.C., July 20, 2009

"What I was suggesting -- you're absolutely right that John McCain has not talked about my Muslim faith..." --in an interview with ABC's George Stephanopoulos, who jumped in to correct Obama by saying "your Christian faith," which Obama quickly clarified.

"I'm here with the Girardo family here in St. Louis." --speaking via satellite to the Democratic National Convention, while in Kansas City, Missouri, Aug. 25, 2008

"Let me introduce to you the next President -- the next Vice President of the United States of America, Joe Biden." --slipping up while introducing Joe Biden at their first joint campaign rally, Springfield, Illinois, Aug. 23, 2008

"Let me be absolutely clear. Israel is a strong friend of Israel's. It will be a strong friend of Israel's under a McCain...administration. It will be a strong friend of Israel's under an Obama administration. So that policy is not going to change." --Amman, Jordan, July 22, 2008

"How's it going, Sunshine?" --campaigning in Sunrise, Florida

MY PERSONAL FAVORITE: "On this Memorial Day, as our nation honors its unbroken line of fallen heroes -- and I see many of them in the audience here today -- our sense of patriotism is particularly strong."

And in perhaps the most seriously troubling set of gaffes of them all, Obama told a Portland that Iran doesn’t “pose a serious threat to us”–arguing that “tiny countries” with small defense budgets can’t do us harm– and then promptly flip-flopped the next day, claiming, “I’ve made it clear for years that the threat from Iran is grave.”

But that now brings us out of the realm of gaffes, into the realm of flip-flops and walk-backs! I could write all day about those.

You should spread the word (or this cut & paste) with your fellow righties. Because all they use is 57 states.

And do you understand the irony of a die-hard Bush supporter even beginning a conversation about gaffes & verbal miscues? I can take your list above & quadruple it. Know that.

And "Bush didn't hang the banner" is pathetic apologism, even for you...

Ah, but Bush isn't running for any public office, this thread is about Sarah Palin. Remember? And... Bush DIDN'T hang the banner! It's kind of a 'hard sell' to attribute a gaffe to someone who didn't make it. Not an apology, just common fucking sense... of course, look at who we're talking to here!

I tried to post the list of Biden gaffes, and I got a message that Damo's server couldn't handle a post that long.

Palin is an idiot politically--there's no doubt about that -- but she is charming and that explains her popularity. Why do the media outlets spend so much time trying to make her into the 2012 GOP front runner? I think they know it would be a sure loser for the GOP so they're going to push her into their news as much as they can get away with. The show deals she got seem like a clever way to get her to hang herself by having enough silly fodder to keep her in the news. She probably thinks the attention is sincere, but I have no doubt some big money people know how bad she'd be for the GOP and they want her in the limelight.

Sorry, I don't see it. I see the media outlets and political pundits left and right, calling the woman every derogatory name in the book, and proclaiming her "unelectable" for an office she hasn't even said she is seeking yet. When I have the chance to hear her candidly speak on policy issues, rather than having to defend whatever the latest attack of the day is, she doesn't come across as a typical double-speaking politician who leaves all kinds of room for doubt about what they said. She's pretty straightforward and consistent on the idea of smaller limited government, and as far as 'knowledge of the real world' goes, I think she probably has more of a grasp than Obama, Bush, Clinton (either one) or Carter. She certainly has more intelligence than Biden or Gore. She's no Newt Gingrich, but what chances does he have of being elected president? The smartest person doesn't always win.

Contrary to whatever image I've conveyed, I am not sure that she would get my vote in the Republican primaries at this point, it's still too early to say, I really do like Huckabee and Jindal, but she is certainly in contention for my vote. I am just not on board with the ever-popular Palin Bashfest. I think it is embarrassing that so many so-called Conservatives are jumping on that bandwagon with the liberals, this early in the political season. You really have no basis for it, other than the misleading perceptions you've been spoon-fed by the mainstream media and elitist establishment republicans. If you're going to let them make your mind up for you, what difference does it make who runs against Obama in 2012, we'll get the media's choice... another John McCain type who wouldn't be much better than what we have or what we've had.

onceler is just being onceler, offering nothing of substance, just running around insulting and calling people hacks, which is a clear projection on his part....in bush's speech that day, he actually said the mission will continue, but i wouldn't expect onceler to actually look something up and read it:

Our mission continues. Al-Qaida is wounded, not destroyed. The scattered cells of the terrorist network still operate in many nations, and we know from daily intelligence that they continue to plot against free people. The proliferation of deadly weapons remains a serious danger. The enemies of freedom are not idle, and neither are we. Our government has taken unprecedented measures to defend the homeland — and we will continue to hunt down the enemy before he can strike.
