Frank, keep the faith, America goes back and forth, travel south and you feel like in some places the civil war just ended. Progress comes slow and often falls backward. Look at Germany today, it is more progressive and advanced than America, they actually have a woman in charge, the American right spent twenty years demonizing a single woman thus we have Donnie Trump, a draft dodger, failure in business, a university con-artist, tax cheat, adulterer, etc, but he knows how to use words to stir up his base. Hate is a powerful tool on fertile soil, and dark money conservatives helped create his base. It didn't help we had a black president for that further confirmed the right wing mythology of loss. Today our wealthy drive German autos and our working class Korean or Japanese, support is in India and everything is made in China, meanwhile the Trump snowflake anguishes over a lost world he helped create. Trump will pass but will Americans ever learn, hard to say. And so it goes....

But...we will survive him. Unfortunately, his harm will be with the world for the next three decades at least.

Here is my guess about the reality of our political situation. I HOPE I AM WRONG. I fervently hope I am wrong.

We’ve lost…they’ve won!

Those of us who oppose and are horrified that Donald Trump is our president...those of us who actively oppose him…HAVE LOST.

The people who helped Donald Trump to win the presidency; the people continuing to support him; and the people NOT actively opposing him…

…HAVE WON.

Adolf Hitler came to power legally. Donald Trump also came to power legally.

It now appears as though the fools who support him have sealed the fate of our nation. My guess is that anyone (including Donald Trump) on trial for crimes committed in support of his candidacy or in support of his administration…will NEVER be found guilty. There will always be at least one rabid individual on each jury like one of these people here who refuses to see the problem…probably several. After several hung juries…the prosecutors will give up even trying.

Hitler…oops, I mean Trump…will almost certainly prevail. He’ll manage to obtain an enabling act of some sort…and become dictator.

I imagine for the rabble fawning before him…it will be a glorious time.

Unfortunately, the reckoning will come. It always does. That will not be so glorious.

Trump definitely is my president. No doubt about that. He is the elected president of the United States.

The comparison with Hitler, however, stands, although it is looking more and more like an insult to Hitler.

Hitler was more intelligent...and a MUCH better speaker.

They both, however, were able to rally truly stupid people to their cause. I'll give you that.
