What Critical Race Theory Teaches

Well if that is to imply progress I would agree, but there are issues/problems that remain as well.....

Not everyone has the same motivations & over time those motivations etc can change:cool:

I agree. We don't live in a Utopian Society. I doubt we will ever see a time when we all start life out at 'Equals'. Someone will have an 'advantage' over the next person. Someone will get a 'headstart'.

It is what we should strive for. What you say is a Repib excuse to ignore what we have done and do.

I hope that is not what you have absorbed from my comments.
I have no problem with teaching history.

Nord: "what we have done".
Jack: Maybe what YOU have done. I've never owned any Slaves. My ancestors were Quakers and believed 'God' was in every person. My ancestors lived in the North (Ohio, Indiana, Wisconsin) during the Civil War. I, personally, support 'Brotherhood' and 'Unity'. I support 'Dia de La Raza', an idea of racial mixture that makes us 'One People'. YOU, like TDAK, Volsrock, TTQ, and Guno may support Racial Hatred, you may think that is a healthy Life Style and needs to be taught to children so they can grow up and be even MORE Hateful than they are.

What do you think?

Is this what you want to "strive" for?

:) I actually support this.

"We can dismantle racism by dismantling systems of oppression, not by being nice to people."

In my view 'oppression' is a matter of 'Economic Class' rather than a 'Racial' issue.
Having said that, most people in America are White, and most of the Economic Oppressor Class are White.

I'll listen...what do you want to "dismantle"?
(And do you think we teach children to stop being nice because it's a waste of time?)

Black Slave Owners bought Black Slaves NOT because they were 'racists'. They bought Slaves like everybody else did ... for Economic reasons. They became part of the Oppressor Class.

What systems of oppression do you want to see "dismantled"? And how is to be incorporated into CRT school curriculum?

Well, I'll give you one of my personal experiences. I'm at a Bus Stop at midnight in the poorest part of Town. A Squad Car pulls up. They ask me what I'm doing. Ask for my ID. Frisk me. I cooperate in every way. They arrest me. Cuff me. Take me to Jail. Fingerprint me. Take my picture. I ask about 'why am I being arrested'. They say 'there was a robbery nearby and I fit the description'. I spend the night in Jail. Next day they release me. I ask if they are going to take me back where they picked me up. They say 'no'.

The Reality is: Police sweep up 'Poor People' as a Policy. 'Poor People' commit most of the petty crimes. The Police want to have a Record of as many people as they can. 'Photo', 'Fingerprints', 'Identifying Marks', 'Residence', and anything else they can find out.

As a 'Poor Person' I had enough money for the Bus to my Home from where they picked me up. I DIDN'T have enough money from the Jail Downtown to my Home. I took the Bus as far as I could then ended up walking the last mile or two.

So, to answer your Question. Dismantle the Policy of arresting 'Poor People' on Bogus Charges so they can have an extensive Dossier on 'The Usual Suspects'.

My View: An example of an Arm of the Oppressor Class using their Power to Harass, Intimidate, and Suppress. (NOT a Racial issue)

Do buses still run at midnight?
I'm sorry you went through that...when and where did that happen? What could the community/LE do to avoid these kinds of situations? A social worker in the car to counsel and perhaps offer a ride home....? Today Uber will take you home from ail...they have cars sitting outside the facilities at release time...We got to watch the neighbor come home...she recorded it and posted so that everyone knew...
That's not CRT lesson plan material, though....

Yeah. About once an hour. You are probably unaware of the, but the Poor People clean the Buildings in the City while the Office Workers sleep.

TOP: "I'm sorry you went through that...when and where did that happen?'
Jack: Logan Heights, 1964. A mainly Hispanic/Black community of San Diego.

TOP: "What could the community/LE do to avoid these kinds of situations? "
Jack: Stop fucking with Poor People because they are Poor. Go find some Rich People to fuck with.

TOP: "A social worker in the car to counsel and perhaps offer a ride home."
Jack: To 'counsel' me on waiting for a Bus? I'm waiting on a fucking Bus.

TOP: "That's not CRT lesson plan material"
Jack: Yeah. I imagine it would be framed as a 'Black Oppression by Police' Narrative. This doesn't just happen to 'Black' people. It's a larger issue.

1964? Let's move on....
I'm familiar with people who work overnight and poor areas of town... Still not school curriculum this oppression you mention...definitely issues to work on...

Well, then we agree...but it's (CRT) not for school curriculum....

:) I'm not sure what the curriculum is. I think that is what we are arguing here.

Breonna Taylor was killed because of the 'Nixon No-Knock Law'. She wasn't killed because she was 'Black'. The 'Policy' of 'No-Knock' laws needs to be rescinded. 'No-Knock' laws create Waco situations.

"Breonna Taylor, a 26-year-old African-American woman, was fatally shot in her Louisville, Kentucky, apartment on March 13, 2020, when white plainclothes officers Jonathan Mattingly, Brett Hankison, and Myles Cosgrove of the Louisville Metro Police Department (LMPD) forced entry into the apartment as part of an investigation into drug dealing operations"

:) I'm not a 'Poor Person' anymore. But I was. And I know what I went through. And those around me. 'Poor People' are deliberately Targeted by the Police. And The State supports the Police.

You're making good points..you have been all along... And making the case for no formal CRT curriculum in schools...
