The city council of Minneapolis is talking about doing away with the police completely.
In such an event, county sheriff will be hiring a few more deputies to do the job the city refuses to do.

That will insanely overburden the sheriff. They will have to hire 5x as many as they have to even come close to balancing out getting rid of the large city police force.
