firstly, I NEVER said I would punish them to make them feel it was dirty. I DID say I would punish them because it could get them in serious legal trouble.
Secondly, that 13 year old daughter is MY responsibility to protect and nurture and you have ZERO business sticking your nose in how I raise her. I grew up in a house of women with no male influence. I have raised two daughters in my lifetime and one step daughter. Two of them are decent and respectable young ladies who are completely comfortable with who and what they are. The stepdaughter has issues because I was handicapped with a father who thinks just like you do. Listen to yoursellf "decent and respectable" they do what YOU want them to do with their bodies.

I'm not a parent but Desh has a point that parents should talk to their kids. Now I don't know when you are suppose to have "the talk" or if you have a daughter as a father you are suppose to tell your daughter that boys are scum.

now THIS is the first thing you've said that comes close to making any sense. Did HER parents not raise her right in regards to how she should view her own body? most likely from what it sounds like, but that in NO SINGLE WAY POSSIBLE makes it her right to show who ever she wants. no single way possible. To even infer that she has that makes you as unfit a parent as you call her parents.

Her parents fault? WTF?

If I found out my 13 year old daughter had sent pictures of her boobs to some school boy I damn sure would have punished her.

This is not the place for some tirade about how natural tits are. Because this little girl did not send a picture because they are natural. And they are not hers to show whoever she wants. That works when you are an adult, but not when you are 13.

This is about a child who could have been on the verge of ruining her life. Look at the teen pregnancy rates all over the country. And this 13 year old was already learning to use her body to get attention from the boys. What would have happened when she was 14 or 15? What would have happened when seeing her tits didn't get her the attention she craved?

The girl needed help, this much is obvious. But what is obvious in retrospect is not always obvious at the time.

Blame the boys. Blame the school. Blame society for making women's bodies their #1 way of getting attention.

But don't dare blame the parents for trying to stop this little girl from becoming a teenage mother.

If they had embraced her and told her she made a choice that ultimately was not in her own self interest as the backlash from society was very obviously showing her. The you Love her and talk to her until she feels the strength to face the backlash and redeem herself.

Instead they joined the world in the backlash against her.

If this were my daugther I would have even been willing to move to get her moving onto the NEXT step in life. They didnt and now shes dead.

First of all, you hve no idea what the parents said or did other than grounding her. To act as though they were cruel is just your imagination trying to come up with a way to justify your point.

Second of all, the fact that the other kids at school and the school itself were punishing her is not a reason for the parents to have not punished her. In fact, you really have no way of knowing whether or not the parents even knew about the flack she was receiving from the other students.

This girl used her electronics to create child pornography. All the "they are her breasts she can show them to who she wants" does not avoid that fact. She was sending pics of her tits to a boy in hopes he would be aroused and attracted to her. This was the beginning of her using her body to gain attention. It would have cost her dearly in the long run.

The girl committed suicide. This is a tragic fact. But the parents should have punished her for what she did. They took away the tools she was using. They didn't beat her or send her off to boarding school. They grounded her.

I said I blamed her parents the most.

It is in the end the parents job to teach a child how to rise out of the problems you have created for yourself as well as How to honor your own worth.

These people ( and I feel very deeply for them and their loss , this is NOT the outcome they wanted) Made some mistakes parenting this poor girl for her to ever have found herself in this mess.
