What happened to States Rights?

States' rights have been used to take away the basic human right to be free from slavery. Why would a mid level government have so much more rights than human beings?
A state govt is not mid level government. This is the United State(S) of America not the United State of America. The idea of actual freedom is so foreign to people it's scary. Why should any govt be able to tell me a private business owner who I must do business with? Why shouldnt I be free to serve whoever I want or refuse to serve whoever I want? Don't like it don't do business with me.

Because the United States has that power in some instances. According to our Constitution.

but... but...

It can be anything the discussion leads us to... but initially it was to point out the hypocrisy of the Trumpper.
Are you saying that there are not leftists who are hypocritical on the issue? All leftists are 1000% states rights people?

Are you claiming that they hypocrisy on this issue is 100% limited to supporters of President Donald J Trump?

I notice you have the gay pride falg on your avatar. Must be quite a "BLOW" for you to have Trump doing his best to oust the gay
men from competing in women's' sports.
I wonder if the left would be in favor of cannibalism if Trump said he was opposed to it?

A state govt is not mid level government.
It is not the national government, and is not the local government. It is the mid-level between the two.

This is the United State(S) of America not the United State of America.
Notice you write "this" not "these", so you are saying that the United States of America is a singular entity, not a set of entities.

The idea of actual freedom is so foreign to people it's scary.
Government being "free" to do whatever it wants should be worrisome to people. Remember you are defending the freedom of government above the freedom of the individual?
