A normal investment in an S&P fund would have returned a little over 2% in 2025. Given that inflation was more than that, it would have been a loss. The stock market did not do well in 2025. You would expect a return of over 10% in an average year. It could have been much worse, but not good.
I got a little over 9%. There was a point that I was close to 100% return, and it could have been 500% had TACO not been TACO, but "coulda shoulda woulda"... Those that know what I am saying, know what I am saying.
It is important to take risks. They should be educated, and limited risks. If you see that the market is not pricing risk correctly, then take some of your money and take that risk.
And get as much money into a Roth as you can. It is tax free from that point on out. It is the craziest best tax investment vehicle out there.
