What is woke about the lil mermaid?

Walter, can you imagine how Black people would react to a movie with Tom Cruise playing the part of Martin L. King?

Think before you post, Walter.

You really got the hots for Walt, don't you, pEarl? Sorry to be the one to let you down, but he's not into impotent sissy stalkers.

Someone here called the new Disney remake of the little mermaid woke.
Probably MAGAs are angry because the mermaid is played by a black female actress.
must have been you.....or someone else ignorant of the facts....

Yes? But it’s fiction, right? When you retell fiction details are very often changed, right?

Was the original live action?
I bet your kids love the classic original animated version... why mess it up?

I don't know why Jarod is concerned about a movie he hasn't seen.... either version... perhaps he'll fill us in... I'm not sure what Jesus has to do with this though:laugh:

Remakes of animated movies are never very successful...

Well, it is too early to tell for sure about this one, but Disney has had a great history of successful remakes of animated movies. Lately, they have been breaking from that history. Their total budgets were $2.343 with total box offices of $9.62 billion. There is additional revenue beyond box office, and the budget of The Little Mermaid is included but the box office is not known yet. Anyway you slice it, they have been a very good success.

including this one...

In one week, The Little Mermaid is halfway to profitable. It will almost certainly be profitable.

It's fascinating that switching to a black actor to play the part of a fictional character equals "messing it up" to you. Racist much? Why yes, you are. Bet you blew a gasket when the Pocahontas in the remake was much darker than the nearly-white original. :rofl2:

So why are YOU so concerned? Oh, that's right. He's making you feel alive by giving you attention via his replies. lol

Despite DeSatan's best attempts to get ppl to hate Disney. lol

Nothing wrong with a great remake... I could mention quite a few... this was not one of them.... remake shouldn't mean throw the original out the window...;) https://www.disneydining.com/even-scuttles-race-changes-in-the-new-little-mermaid-lf1/ some things are sacred...;)

The "original" was not the original. It has been rattling around in different forms for almost 200 years. The real original is all in Danish... Do you demand that the new movie also be in Danish?

Making the Little Mermaid white is not "sacred" to anyone who is not a racist.

The original animated version is the original animated version... remakes with changes are fine if they don't ruin the Integrity of the original
... I believe I mentioned a remake of Cinderella there are remakes of The Lion King and quite a few others..
That are very well done...

In my effort to understand UltraMAGA, I am interested in why are your type
Consider the movie “woke”. I did see the old one, and have no understanding why the ethnicity of the person who plays the mermaid matters at all?

Seems like a classic story of a mythical creature who transforms her self into a human for love.
