What is woke about the lil mermaid?

I'm always fascinated by which topics get the responses. This one seems silly to me, I have no need to respond so I've been observing instead... I don't care about a movie that I will not have to watch for ages and ages because I do not have any kids or grandkids in the right age range to want to see it. Yet, hundreds of responses about hiring some person to play an imaginary creature.

Imaginary creatures can have whatever skin color you want them to have. What I wonder is why folks more woke folks aren't up in arms for them giving the mermaid "white girl's" hair. Her natural hair wasn't good enough for a fictional creature, I guess...
 
An asteroid could be about to hit the earth, and the right would still be focused on "woke."

It's a pretty odd obsession. I guess for them, it has come to include everything that they can't stand about the left.

Racists have been bitching about this movie ever since it was announced. The DeSantis war on Disney kept the subject hot.

Some people will bitch about anything but in this case, it's not the woke having a conniption over the movie. It's the Trump Tuckers whose tuck panties are wadding up.

It's like Disney just said: Black women's hair just isn't good looking enough for "our" Ariel... Gonna have to "white that up a bit" for the movie.

And in the same scenario leftists will tell us how much more the asteroid hitting earth will effect blacks than other groups and how it's "systemic" racism. This is yet ANOTHER example of leftists having no self awareness whatsoever.
