Hehehehe... wow, you're an easy one to trigger. I'll keep that in mind when this place gets boring.
Anyway, of course I knew all of that.
We were told, early on, that we could beat the pandemic with masks. That eventually proved foolhardy. Then they said the vaccine was the way to go to rid ourselves of the pandemic. Yet, as you've said, a person can still get the virus if he's vaccinated and wears a mask. Sure, the incidence of infection may be lower, but the virus isn't beaten.
The simple truth is that Covid 19 is something that we're going to have to learn to accept as part of life for the foreseeable future. Wearing masks (which I still do when it's requested) and vaccines are fine, but the foolish mistake I see over and over again is how the left blames Trump's response as to why it's so bad here and the right blames Biden for why it remains. The truth is that this is a global pandemic and, as long as were allowing people to come into this country from abroad, we're opening the door to risk. If every single American were to be completely free of the virus, it would take only one infected person, traveling from abroad, to stand everything on its ear. After all, that's how it happened the first time. No one here had it until someone showed up with it.
I've had Covid 19 twice. I am not vaccinated. I wear a mask if a business I'm visiting requires it. I don't require either masks or vaccines at my businesses, and only a handful of people came down with Covid since the onset of the pandemic. The number was so few that that the odds those people caught it here at work is so infinitesimal as to be almost non-existent...
