The southern border is long and geographically diverse. I believe a flexible design in depth patrolled by armed guards who are authorized to shoot to kill on sight is best. Where terrain is an issue, killer drones should be utilized.

Any wall has to be patrolled and guarded otherwise it's worthless. "Jumping" cholla on the other hand, make for a natural barrier if planted densely and over a wide strip. It will grow in almost all of the Southwest border region naturally if planted there. No need for maintenance.
