New Question: What to buy - I mean on Amazon there are some great deals - like this one - but what's more important?

It's a business computer although it will only be for personal use. I dislike the idea of dropping too much money into a computer that will become obsolete in a couple years or, worse, I spill coffee into the keyboard.

The good news is that I used $250 worth of credit card points to cover most of the cost. :thup:

Don't the consumer reports/reviews/feedback matter? Also, Amazon has a great LIBERAL return policy <--- OH! That's why you hate Amazon :)

What about this one? 24gb of ram and 1T of storage? Gaming laptop so you know the screen refresh is fast for all that stepdad porn I watch ;)

They can, but they're hardly the only one out there. What wouldn't count is reviews by Amazon customers, particularly the paid shills many companies use these days.

<shrug> Well, I know I need a lot of ram, I know I need a lot of storage. Processing speed is important but I'm not a gamer and don't stream much from my laptop.

I won't "pull the trigger" yet. I do know I need an upgrade.

A good idea to dodge that problem is to toss out the top 10% and bottom 10%. When there's not very many reviews left, that might be a flag.

I usually go for a high number positive reviews but in the case of my current laptop, price and manufacturer was enough.

I just increased my google cloud storage from 15 to 100gb. The additional capacity is costing me 50 cents for 3 months and 1.99 thereafter. More than worth it!
