What the left failed to understand about inflation

Teflon Don

I'm back baby
and why it was devastating to the Harris campaign

It is actually very simple. It isn't like when the unemployment rate is 8% and it only impacts part of society. While that can be devastating, not everyone is impacted. Inflation on the other hand impacts EVERYONE. Doesn't matter who you are. And leftists saying "Well, inflation is now down from 9% to 2.4%" while correct completely misses the point. Yes the rate of growth is down, but prices are STILL HIGH. People are still feeling it.

Inflation is a killer for an incumbent, just ask Jimmah Carter, who by the way must be pissed that they kept him alive for this.

What is really sad is that the friendly View gave Harris an out with a softball question when they asked her what she would do differently, sure I know that people think that it shows weakness by saying you would have done something different. Or maybe she would have been accused of showing disloyalty, but had she created distance between herself and Biden on that one issue, she might have had a chance. But, she dug in and it cost her the White House.

Partially true, prices haven’t shrunk all items, groceries being one, but they are still continuously declining, and a 2.4% rate is good. Adding in with other economic indicators it shows we are in a good spot economically, especially in comparison to any other nation in the world

Inflation could be nearly nonexistent, but if the public perception is we have high inflation, people believe it, as I’ve said previously, every weekend college and NFL games are packed at expensive prices but if you surveyed fans leaving the game guarantee the majority would respond they are suffering and the economy sucks

Trump is inheriting a progressing economy, although he would never admit such

I'll offer an example. I work in CRE. My industry has been in a recession for a couple of years now. People have been getting crushed by higher interest rates. On the office side you have the whole issue of work from home and companies taking less space as a result. And you had people who bought when rates were close to zero now having to refinance in this much higher rate environment (CRE folks acted like their team won the Super Bowl when Powell cut rates recently).

Many people in CRE will still go to sporting events etc. They aren't just sitting at home. But yeah, they might say the economy isn't great because it's bad times for the industry they work in.

Other economic indicators show we are in a good spot economically?? Like what? 12,000 new jobs. That shows were in a "good spot" economically?

How is "public perception" formed? And by whom? You seem to be suggesting that public perception could be manipulated based on a lie.

A "progressing economy" with 12,000 new jobs????? Sound like someone is trying to manipulate "public perception".

With the tariffs Trump wants , a min. of 20% and 60% or more on goods from China and what is it 100% on goods from Mexico YOU AIN"T SEEN INFLATION YET.
Hold on it is what you MAGAS wanted.

He got a growing and vibrant economy from Obama and fucked it up. This time it has the potential be get nastier. Worldwide inflation is a problem that Putin kicked in. Trump understands nothing about it. He wants to fire Powell and run it himself. Trump has no idea how to run things, but his ego tells him that he can do no wrong.

The 12,000 jobs Aja’s been explained to you umpteen times, and ye, Trump is getting a progressive economy, just as he did on 2016, and opposite of what Biden got from him

Public perception of the economy is based upon a lack of understanding of the current state of the economy, own any mirrors

The Fed losing independence would be a disaster

As long as you're miserable its worth it.
I 'm NOT " miserable." I am sitting back here laughing my ass off at you MORONS that think Trump's 20 /30 / or more % tariffs aren't going to raise the cost of the goods we buy and drive this country into what you morons will call inflation like we have never seen it in our life times.
But that IS what you MAGAS wanted so now just wait you'll get it and you aren't going to like it and it will be too late to go back.

Inflation is clearly a topic that is way above your paygrade.

In this nation, it's no secret that high prices are mostly due to corporate rape. What exactly is trump going to do to stop that?

Honestly, people who know how to shop are not suffering at the grocery store. Perhaps NY is better off than other states, but I'm basically stealing food and putting it in my freezer. I don't expect the people who are screeching about prices to know how to shop. Unless trump believes that POTUS has the power to regulate corporate profits, this isn't ending anytime soon. Especially since the stock market runs in inverse proportion to the wellbeing of the average consumer.

It wasn't one issue that cost Harris the White House, it was damn near all of them.

On the economy, inflation, shortages, people having to work two jobs to make ends meet--resulting in the false narrative that unemployment was low, and people maxing their credit cards out at 25 to 30% interest, all fed into a vote against Harris.

Her near total blindness to the border crisis is another. Whether illegals are eating dogs or not wasn't relevant. It was living in some city and seeing more illegals being dumped there than citizens. It was watching the news about some illegal committing rape or murder. With nothing being done, and Harris by her inactions showing she was going to do nothing about it, people voted against her.

Biden / Harris were already, almost from day 1, the most unpopular administration in modern US history. They were more unpopular than Trump. They never came close to fixing it.

On the wars in the Middle East Harris tried to split the baby, so-to-speak. Instead of a solution, both Jews and Palestinians / Arabs ended up hating on her.

The only issue she had something of an advantage on was abortion, and it simply wasn't that important as an issue.

You can't run a campaign doing nothing but attacking your opponent. Harris is guilty of that too. In the closing weeks of the campaign she went full on negative against Trump while not saying much, if anything, about her own campaign. With no reason(s) to vote for her, people didn't.

Harris also came off as a phony. From word salads to scripted answers, she grated people as inauthentic and plastic. Trump for all of his crazy bombast and over-the-top campaigning was authentic. You knew what you were getting with him. Dishonesty has a way of making people not want to deal with you, and Harris was, if anything, dishonest damn near 100% of the time. She lost a lot of voters because of that.

This right here is why Harris got her ass kicked.

Do not fret. Soon I will provide advice on how democrats can be relevant. I want to have two relevant parties and the Democrat party is dead right now
