Bush told everybody to go shopping right after 911 and told them, don't worry, we'll take care of it. "We'll" certainly took care of it.

This isn't going to sit well with the republicans but the longer I stick around, the more I get the impression that 911 was an inside job.

I know he moved the pacific fleet from San Diego to Pearl Harbor before Pearl Harbor. He also activated the draft after he made a campaign pledge to keep America out of the war in Europe.

Now, don't get me wrong, Bush is a complete moron. But that particular moment wasn't an example of it. I would probably have responded with the above scenario, but at the moment, the entire homeland defense structure was mobilizing an automated response. NORAD and the FAA were shutting down the airspace and launching fighters. Units throughout the military were recalling personnel. For the next few hours there wasn't a lot of input he needed to give.

No, wrong again. It seems that all Americans were fed the appropriate position to take on Bush's dallying around while the nation was clearly being attacked. He should have jumped to his feet, run out of that place, and got himself fully informed on the situation so he could act as a president.

Anything else is nothing but excuses for the largest lack of decisiveness ever displayed by a president in your country's history. It can't ever be covered up but it's obvious that the pap you people were fed has stuck.

This became a clear indication of the lack of character of the man. That should have also made it clear that he was nothing but a figurehead who was directed to give the speeches as he was directed and as they were written for him.

It all depends on how high you rank "intellectual curiosity" as what you want in a leader.

For me, it's up there. And when the CIC hears that "America is under attack", and that is all that he knows, I'd prefer to see him politely excuse himself to get a little more info.
 
I thought we were merely being terrorized rather than attacked. That's the whole basis why this was a law enforcement matter rather than a military one, right?

I personally consider it more along those lines. But, at the time, all Bush knew was that we were under attack.
