Got to love the way the Covid deniers generalize lockdowns, like all economic activities are completely ended, all restrictions are uniformed nationwide.

All economic activity if you are a bar or a restaurant or many other businesses is ENDED. Completely. Let's not play semantics games.

And the other reality is that if Covid isn't addressed, Covid itself will close just as many restaurants with significantly more deaths along the way.

A 0.02% death rate is insignificant (source: CDC). It does not justify closing any business. You can't ignore the Constitution. Shutting down a business does not stop a virus.

I think a lot of small businesses will close permanently , some may come back with time and investments but it will be to late for many of them.

Its almost like some mayors and governors are punishing small business, even when they know restaurants are not the big spreaders of covid 19.

Someone said recently that over 600 Seattle food service places are already gone. It is not just the pandemic....taxes are already very high and are going higher....and the regulations just kill. Restaurant guys are thinking "OK, let's say I stay around and this pandemic gets over, how much am I going to have to charge for a plate of food to make a profit?" and after they do the calculations say "No way, that will never work" and throwing in the towel.

EDIT: In Seattle the decline of law and order, the vagrants, and complete lack of faith that the cities leadership will get better anytime soon has a lot to do with deciding to close as well.

In addition, the Seattle City council are considering no longer enforcing criminal activity on their streets, leaving criminals to openly steal, vandalize, loot and pillage without any consequence for their lawlessness.
What happened to San Francisco will happen to Seattle. It is also happening right now in Los Angeles. It happened to a large degree in Portland, OR.
