What will the "trumpanzees" do after trRump is gone?

Totally predictable. And that would be a repetition of history.

Republicans run the debt up, Democrats have to fix it as Republicans carry on about how serious the debt is, so Republicans claim Democrats can't pass any more infrastructure or social safety net measures.

Hopefully the public will see through that nonsense this time.

I doubt it. The fact that #TRE45ON still has a third of the voters supporting corruption, incompetence, divisiveness, and stupidity doesn't speak too well of American intelligence. See Post #60.

Agreed. This is why the Trump fans are members of a Cult of Personality. They don't care about conservative values (not that many Republicans do anymore) or the Republican party platform. They only care about what Trump wants.

Some people might fit that, but there are others who support populism in general. Whenever Trump exits office, there will still be plenty of populists in office or running for it. Populism has principles just like the the traditional GOP platform does.

The one's fitting that are the populists because Trump is a populist.

The actual populists that support Trump aren't supporting him for his personality. They're supporting him because he actually has been holding China accountable and is more focused on immigration issues than most members of either party.

Immigration? yeah, I forgot about that boogieman. Trump is at odds with corporations that want more cheap labor from immigration, legal or illegal. They do not care.
He is not holding China accountable at all. Trump and Ivanka had all their overpriced trinkets made in China and 3rd world nations. Repubs do not care. He says he cares about American workers. He does not. Not a bit. China is where American corporations get their crap made with cheap unprotected labor and no environmental laws. Our American corporations are China's economy.

It's not a bogeyman. It is rather odd how much the left claims to be supportive of working class Americans yet refuses to implement any policies to protect them against wage depression caused by cheap labor.

I'll give you one thing though. America has, overall, sold out to China via corporations. And the cover that the media provides for China is reflective of that. That goes beyond party.

You are way out of date, the working class gets the finger now.....especially if they are NOT People Of Color.

Oooh, dude. Don't drink the Kool-Aid. Just because Trump claims he's the world's greatest chess master and moves pieces around the board then claims that game is rigged, tips the board over and walks away doesn't prove he's the world's greatest chess master. He's a reality TV show host. It's a show and Trump provides the melodrama.

What do you have to offer as an alternative? Biden has a long record of being corrupt, and now he's shifted to the left to appease the lunatics in his party. Even if I didn't like Trump, I'd have little choice but to vote for him, just to avoid having the Democrats take over.

Pence. Elect Trump, use the 25th Amendment and swear in President Pence. That would make me happy. :)

Pence has flaws but he's the best option out of all the possibilities. There's also the strong possibility that whoever Biden picks as VP will finish out his term.

I guess we'll see who Biden picks, but I'm not very hopeful regarding this. There aren't many moderate Democrats left in prominent positions. It's doubtful they'll pick a moderate.

I've never voted for a Democrat for President. As it is, I stopped voting for deplorables the lesser of two evils in 2012. To paraphrase Reagan, I didn't leave the Republican party, the Republican party left me. It had been doing so since Newt came into prominence. After 2012 there was the "Republican Autopsy" AKA Growth and Opportunity Project. The Republicans blew it off and now we have a Republican party that looks nothing like the Republican party I joined over 45 years ago.

I'll be voting a straight Libertarian ticket just like in 2018 but admit I'd rather see Trump/Pence win the Biden/XXX. Odds are, it'll be Biden. I hope the Republicans can hold onto the Senate.

I used to be libertarian, but I actually prefer the current GOP over the previous one. The Bush era GOP was neocon warmongers. I'll take populism over that any day.

Your view of the GOP reminds me of how I view the Democrats, however. I considered myself a liberal in the 90s, since Bill Clinton's stances on things were, in retrospect, moderate. Bill Clinton would be considered solidly Republican in today's world.

Dems are still supportive of workers. Who do you think is pro-union and for increasing the Min. wage? The left is not for illegal immigration, but they are realists. It has happened for a long long time. We have to deal with reality. Millions are here. They came in through existing ports of entry.
China is a product of the real government, corporations, and the billionaires. They let us play politics but stop us when we go too far.

The minimum wage isn't very useful when there is a massive illegal market for labor.

We can realistically deport illegals while solving the problem for the long term by prosecuting employers of illegals. Neither party is interested in the second part, however.

On this part, I largely agree.

So you dismiss the raise in min wage, because you say so. Sorry, it is a big deal and will be fought violently by the right.
No, we cannot realistically deport illegals. Obama did it by the millions and the problem still exists.

Trump supporters are traitors, and should be treated as such. They are enemies of the Constitution, and enemies of a free and diverse America. Time to bend the knee and admit your error. Last chance. After that, it's "Dracarys".

I dismiss the raise in minimum wage until the illegal immigration issue is dealt with. All raises in the minimum wage accomplish with current conditions is to increase automation in various industries and to encourage the hiring of illegals.

Most of the jobs that actually receive the lowest wages are easily performed by illegals.

The reason Obama couldn't effectively deport illegals is because he didn't put forward the proper measures for border security. A large percentage of his deportations were against repeat offenders. With proper border security, fewer people cross the border illegally.

We saw what happened to Daenerys. She's a fitting analogy for Democrats, however. She's reckless and primarily driven by emotion.
