What's the Point To This Commercial?

To point out to people that retirement is longer than it used to be on average. Thus they need to plan so that their assets last that long. Pru is an insurance company that sells annuities with guaranteed lifetime income streams. It is a way for a person to create their own pension plan.

Howey, if you want answers to questions, probably not a good idea to ban the person most likely able to answer the question for you.

Oh and... homosexuality is bad umkay... nah, I can't keep a straight face when saying that.

did you see what I did there... straight face... get it? God I am funny.

Are you saying that because he called you out for doing the same crap you are whining about others doing?

Regardless, you have the answer to your question regarding the commercial. They are selling an idea. A personalized pension is what they offer via their annuity.

Don't they have a health care insurance interest?

Didn't FOX air this commercial exclusively on New Year's Eve?

It seems rather simple to me. They want to show people that they may live a much longer life than the "average life span" charts show. And they are encouraging people to contact them to find out how to have more money saved for those years.

Or they may be in favor of increasing the social security retirement age to pad their pockets.

How does that pad their pockets? I'm missing how there is a conspiracy or evil intent of any kind here other than the company trying to sell their product to people who are living longer.

They sell insurance and investment material. They weren't talking about increasing the social security retirement age at all. And if they did, exactly HOW would that pad their pockets?

It would not. Howey is simply looking for a conspiracy.

I don't believe in conspiracies. However, given Prudential's interests in health care, virulent opposition to Obamacare, and the current drive to increase the Social Security retirement age in Congress by the right, it's pretty obvious what this commercial is really all about. The fact that FOX news fully funded it makes the assumption even clearer.

And can you point out where in the video they make all those points? I see a company wanting to sell investments to people. There is not one single mention of healthcare in the entire commercial. There is not one single mention of Obamacare in the entire commercial.
