When Democrats are in power.....

For somebody who can't spell, it should not come as a surprise to you that folks would naturally assume your inability to both spell and properly capitalize.

That's it, humble one; start building a way out of the corner you painted yourself into.
I forgot how you've always been able to take pathetic and embrace it, like it will save you.

if conservatives want to fuck up the economy by sending all the low wage immigrants back south, they should un-fuck it all by themselves. simple as that. and it seems to be that you would be perfect for the job... as a former employer, I certainly would never hire anyone for a skilled job who could not spell "liberal" or "manual".

Who the fuck is talking about sending them immediately back where they belong....its the ridiculous reward of a pathway to citizenship for illegally coming here that
is the problem.....citizenship is certainly NOT a civil right and especially in light of breaking our laws to begin with.....
they should be documented and and allowed to work as non-citizens.....if they refuse, then send them packing.....
If they like to work for you liberals as slaves, thats ok with the rest of us....and thats what they are and that seems to be what you want....slave labor to pick your tomatoes, while
you pay the lazy parasites to sit home and collect welfare checks as long as they vote for your party.

I don't need saving from anything or anyone. I'm a retired guy living a great life and stopping by a message board to chat a bit about politics. The only skin I have in that game anymore is the fact that I have three adult children living in the US - all very successful and all liberal democrats, I am proud to say - and I certainly want their lives to be as wonderful as mine has been. If the US turns to a bucket of shit, I'll just fly them down here and we'll all sit and watch you all rot from a distance.

If the US turns into a bucket of shit; then your "retirement" might just end up going down tghe drain, along with everything else.
And I can guarantee you that if the US goes into the toilet; Mexico will be right next to us, if not first.
The American dollar is the only thing that's proping up the Mexican economy right now, to the tune of 21 billion dollars.

In 2011 Mexico had a Revenue of 263 billion; but spent 292 billion and if the economy of Mexico is so much better, then why are so many trying to leave.
But this is beside the point; because you have shown a need to be saved from your own "feelings", since you tend to let your mouth get you into trouble. :)

Actually, maineman, what most conservatives want is for the border to be secure before we create this path so that it isn't a perpetual problem, and to open more legal migration and immigration (yes both, some people want to come work then go home afterward, why should there be a barrier to that?). Just "deporting" them would be a bit like turning on a sump pump to "fix" a leaking pipe in the basement. The basement would still be perpetually filled with water, just not "too full"...

We need to fix a bit more than just handing over a "Path to citizenship" to everybody who came illegally too. All that does is drive incentive for more illegal immigration. We need to secure the open borders then open the front door and have them check in as they come rather than try to back fill that gap in the process, once we can do that, that is when the "path to citizenship" for those who came illegally should open.

When our system is so broken that they send a Visa to a 9/11 bomber after 9/11 to the school he was attending to "learn to fly" that means we have a broken system that is so broken that this give it away policy seems insane.

http://archives.cnn.com/2002/US/03/12/inv.flight.school.visas/index.html

Fix the system first, then we'll start working on the effects of our broken system.

I would think you would need to have an awareness of the diversification of my portfolio before you could make any intelligent assessment as to what might happen to it in any US, regional, or even global economic event. Wouldn't you agree?

Damo... I agree completely that our immigration policy is broken. I honestly believe, however, that Washington has zero interest in actually fixing it, but rather only talking about it in ways that play to the two parties' constituencies. To a large degree, both parties are beholden to big business, and big business loves cheap labor.

I have always said that the quickest way to stop illegal immigration was to make it impossible for illegal immigrants to get work. If we were REALLY serious about stopping cheap labor from crossing our southern border, all we would have to do is to throw the CEO's of any company found to be employing illegal immigrants in prison for ten years. It would cost WAY less than a fence from California to the Gulf of Mexico and, after the first five of six big boys were wearing orange jump suits in a federal pound me in the ass prison... guys like the heads of Tyson or Purdue or Walmart... nobody would hire anyone without a green card... and trust me, if nobody in America wants to hire a Mexican, there will be no mexicans coming to America. If they are going to be unemployed, why not be unemployed close to your family safety net where the cost of living is dirt cheap, the health care is better and cheaper, and the weather is a hell of a lot nicer.

But that will never happen. Why? because big business lobbyists will make sure such a law never sees the light of day. They want us to focus the attention on the cheap labor instead of the businesses who blatantly, knowingly, illegally employ the cheap labor. And that approach works, because mexican farm workers can't hire lobbyists, but big business can.

But as so many detractors of the US have said, when they're complaining about what we're doing; as goes the US, so goes the world (paraphrasing).

But if the US falls, so will they and it will result in you losing what you have put away.

again...that all depends on where I have put it. The world will not fail if the US fails... there are plenty of emerging economies out there that will thrive regardless of what happens to the US. I know that, and so does my financial advisor. ;)

NO-NO-NO; you are wrong.
There have been those, on these very boards, who have said the world depends on the US and if we fail then so will the rest.
Plus makes you think that Mexico won't be looking to expel all those illegal Americans, of which you will be one?

round up all the illegal immigrants and send them home... and the next week, you'll need to take out a loan to buy a head of lettuce... you won't be able to eat at a restaurant because their dishes will all be dirty... every hotel will have cum-stained sheets on the beds for weeks on end... the construction industry would collapse... as would many others....yeah... life without undocumented workers would be a veritable paradise!

So you're ok with exploiting them because they're illegal?

a few points.

1. I really could give a rat's ass what you think of my financial plan. You think it's wrong... I think otherwise.
2. I really could give a rat's ass what people on a message board have to say about the importance of the US economy. I keep my own financial counsel
3. Why in the world would you think that I am illegally here in Mexico? Mexico LOVES expats. They encourage us to seek dual citizenship... they LOVE all the money we pump into their economy, all the people we employ. You really probably should be quiet about now because it's becoming increasingly clear that you don't really know much about what you are trying to talk about. ;)

You're the one who said you were going to be living there, if the US goes to shit, and I just wanted to point out some possible flaws in your arrangement.
The illegal part could possibly come if the US does go to shit and Mexico decides to kick out all the non residents (read illegal immigrants).
Just remember: As the US goes, so goes the rest of the world.

By the way, how long have you had this fasinaction with the asses of rats?

I said nothing of the sort. I already AM living here. why would mexico kick out legal immigrants who have legally applied for - and received -residency status, who pay their taxes and who bring income into the country? Like I said, you should quit while you're behind.

And just remember... I do not share your myopic and ethnocentric view of the importance of the US economy, and I have invested accordingly. If you all go down the tubes, I won't.

Thats why you're there, to suck up the good life at the expense of the suffering of others...
you don't have to hide it down there...they don't vote for your political party from south of the river............how typically Democrat that is.....good for you....
