Sure, there were weapons. They tried to prevent the certification of the vote, using flagpoles and fire extinguishers and trespassing.

I never said it was going to be a successful plan, but the goal was only to delay the certification hearing so that it did not begin on the Constitutionally required date, to give trump and company a viable leg to stand on in Court.

Because the DOJ exercised restraint and used other laws to extract fair and other legit process. Its called Judicial Discretion, using the most effective charges to get the punishment that is Just.

He truly is an existential threat to Democracy. He cares not an inch about Democracy.

That does not call for overturning Democracy, in an effort to save it. He will be limited by legal methods because while we believe in Democracy, we also know the only way to save it is via the Rule of Law, not operating outside the law.
