Where Did Our Money Go?

Just read that this year, over £35 million from the budget went to "democratic reforms" in Moldova—cybersecurity, judicial reforms, fighting disinformation, and so on. Very noble, of course. But here’s the thing: we’ve got our own "reforms" waiting in line, from the NHS to school bathrooms.

Funny enough, most people here probably couldn’t even point to Moldova on a map—let alone judge if these investments actually work. Yet, off go the consultants, cash, and gear, all in the name of "soft power" (or "influence," depending on who you ask).

So here’s the question: When does "supporting democracy abroad" just become a geopolitical game—paid for by us? And who decided this was the priority?

Can’t wait till someone starts worrying about "election transparency" in the UK’s Transport Department.
