Where Is Ron DeSantis?

Cases ≠deaths per capita. Just saying. I have no horse in this race.

It's a red herring. Deaths are a lagging indicator, and Florida is just now experiencing a large uptick in cases none of which would have resulted in death yet. So these point in time comparisons are completely irrelevant. In two weeks, Florida will be much on the upper end.

Hopefully these cases are omicron.

Almost certainly are. And the vax rates are high enough that there should not be too many deaths, but the sheer volume of cases means bad news for the unvaxxed. Not a partisan statement, just a fact.

Evolution in action; God's way of separating the smart from the stupid.

I have to get the booster before heading out to Hawaii in a week and a half. Looks like Maui is getting strict. Can’t go into restaurants there without it.
Pfffft. No big deal.

Some people are making it a big deal by linking it to stupid things like Nazi genocide. They are, of course, fucking morons.

So you think 80,000 cases in a day is 'not doing poorly'? LOL you are a fucking tool

I think deaths per capita over the last 7 days is the premier measure of which states are having the most trouble currently.

Because it is.

BE BETTER!

On the positive side the overwhelming majority will survive and have natural immunity. :dunno:

No it isn't. It just means you are measuring Floridas trough with the peaks of many other states.

Be smarter

Apparently, this is where Putin's bitch tRump's, in particular, good ole boy of the un-American sewer DeSatan is who boldly did Florida dirty as typical type of un-American repuke leadership:

MIAMI, Fla. – A record week for new COVID-19 cases continued as the latest data showed 75,962 cases reported to the Centers for Disease Control from Florida on Thursday. The latest data reported includes the total number of confirmed cases in Florida since the pandemic at more than 4.1 million.

Numbers continue to climb mostly attributed to a surge from the highly contagious omicron variant.

Data submitted on Wednesday, Dec. 29, showed 58,013 new cases, but the Miami Herald reported that according to its calculations, Florida had recorded 77,848 new cases. The newspaper said the large increase “comes from the CDC backlogging cases and deaths for Florida on Mondays and Thursdays, when multiple days in the past have their totals changed.” The CDC site still maintains the original number of more than 58,000 reported on Dec. 29."

Hello guno,

Photos circulating on social media have raised new questions about the whereabouts of Florida Governor Ron DeSantis as he faces criticism amid a surge in COVID-19 in his state.

Critics of the Republican governor have accused him of being "Missing in Action (MIA)" as Florida has set new daily records for new COVID infections four times since December 23.

DeSantis last held a press briefing about the pandemic on December 17 and photos of the governor shared to social media have raised questions.

DeSantis' official Twitter account has recently shared photos of him that were apparently taken several days earlier without noting the fact. On Tuesday, DeSantis' account posted a photo that had been taken 12 days earlier—a fact later confirmed to MSNBC by the governor's office.

On Thursday, DeSantis' Twitter account shared a photo of him at Bagelicious Deli & Bakery in Ocala, Florida. Grant Stern, executive director of Occupy Democrats, pointed to a December 17 Facebook post from Bagelicious Deli & Bakery featuring that same photo.

Florida Commissioner of Agriculture Nikki Fried, a Democrat, told MSNBC's Tiffany Cross on Wednesday that she hadn't seen DeSantis since December 17 and that he had canceled a cabinet meeting in mid-December.

"I haven't seen him since December 17 so I don't know where he is," Fried said. "But [to be] quite honest, even if he was here, he wouldn't be doing anything anyhow, and we know that. So once again the people of our state are gonna have to step up and beat this [...] without him."

He was so quick to take credit when case numbers and infection rates dropped. So now where is he when the going gets tough?
