Where to say Merry Christmas vs Happy Holidays

I'm happy for people to wish me a happy anything, but I'm careful because I think it shows ignorance to wish someone the wrong holiday.

It makes perfect sense for Companies and businesses to stick to “happy holidays” or “season’s greetings” — rather than “merry Christmas” — “out of respect for people of different faiths.”

The key word is “out of respect for people of different faiths.” Remember, business isn't about politics or agendas, but rather, getting people to part with their hard earned cash and making a profit.

I have never met a Jew or Muslim that got offended when I wished them a Merry Christmas. Now I am sure that lunatic anti-Religious Libertarian whackos might find it offensive, but for almost everyone else, no offense is typically taken.

What I say depends on who i am talking to, if they wish me a Merry Christmas first I reply in kind, If I have a pretty good Idea they celebrate Chrstiamas I wish them a Merry Christmas. If they celebrate something else, I wish them a happy that. If I do not know, I wish them Happy Holidays.

There's no such thing as the wrong holiday. If you wish me something other than Christmas or Hanukkah (which I consider important to Christians, even though we don't celebrate it), it's still likely something that has meaning to you, which is the source of significance when extending a greeting to someone.

I did not read the link. I do have some observations. since this is the darkest, most bleak days of the year, I reckon the pagan sun worshippers would celebrate because the days were beginning the slow return to light, heat and life supporting levels. therefore, I reckon the most widely used greeting should be season's greetings, because most of this land and the world are pagan in their belief system. only modern jews would use happy hannukkah because it is not an ordained holy day or feast time; it was added by modern followers of the ineffectual jewish religion. kwanza, nevermind. happy holy days [holidays] is inordinate, yet most people of this land recognize anything the u.s. gov. has declared a "holiday" as holy. therefore as worshippers of the u.s. gov., it is the most appropriate for most dwellers in this land. Christmas [Christ mass], catholic, I suppose is the appropriate greeting for persons actually attending the roman catholic formal assembly known as Christ mass. I am stunned to see so many Christ deniers to actually acknowledge The Lord in using "merry Christmas", when in their daily testimonies they deny The Lord of Glory. since I am just a witness and do not ascribe to any of man"s foolishness [I am being weaned off of], I just say "greetings" or "HO HO HO"

Fuck 'em if they can't tale a Merry Christmas or a Happy Easter (etc...) greeting.

This is America, for gawds sake!

Learn how to act like a decent American or get the fuck out.

And if they're ignorant enough to say merry ram-a-dong or happy Kwanzaa or some other slime holiday bullshit, just tell the idiot(s) to go fuck themselves with their shit "holidays".
