Which came first chickenshit attitude or Republican voting

A new study predicts political behavior with 83% accuracy. It also proves the fact that conservatives are cowards. It is unclear whether being a coward makes you more likely to be Republican or if thinking like a Republican turns you into a coward.

Maybe the Republicans here can help. Were you always cowards or did you become chickenshit pansies as your political beliefs developed? Should I make a poll?

Other scans have shown that brain regions associated with risk and uncertainty, such as the fear-processing amygdala, differ in structure in liberals and conservatives. And different architecture means different behavior. Liberals tend to seek out novelty and uncertainty, while conservatives exhibit strong changes in attitude to threatening situations. The former are more willing to accept risk, while the latter tends to have more intense physical reactions to threatening stimuli.

Building on this, the new research shows that Democrats exhibited significantly greater activity in the left insula, a region associated with social and self-awareness, during the task. Republicans, however, showed significantly greater activity in the right amygdala, a region involved in our fight-or flight response system.

Interesting, it is like you didn't even read your own article or didn't understand it.

Don't worry, I get it. It is just another in a long line of liberal attempts to play the "liberals are smart/conservatives are stupid game". It reminds me of the "science" you democrats used to claim the blacks were intellectually inferior so you could justify your inherent racism

What an amazing article, although I'm a bit sceptical since my political leanings have evolved 180° over the years.

I have a follow up appt with the neurologist who did my brain scan last week. I'll ask him about this!

Can you elaborate or would that tax your amygdala?

I have never claimed anything of the kind, collectivist.

Eh, my parents both went from Democrats to Republicans to Independents. Since I am an idiot they both refuse to claim me so I have that going for me which is nice. I am a lifelong registered Republican. Doesn't really mean much to me other than I guess that makes me a coward and phag. I've been called worse so I can live with that.

It wasn't always that way. Republicans were leaders in public courage until they became southernized in the 70's and 80's. In the long term adopting the Southern Strategy, for short term gain, was unquestionably the stupidest decision the Republican party ever made.

Read posts by Failius and Double Ought 7 and this article surprizes you that they even have a brain at all! LOL

Well that's an obvious clue that your parents are pretty bright folks. So your obtuseness couldn't be genetically derived. I can only surmize that your intellectual capacity was impacted by all the paste you ate while attending USC?

But seriously, I was a registered Republican from 1979 till 2004 and an active Republican from 1982 till 1996. Though I was never, ever a quote "conservative". I've always been socially liberal, for obvious reasons, and a pragmatist on economics and business. My alienation with the Republican party was mainly due to it's adoption the Southern Strategy and it's institutionalized bigotry. Put simply, social conservatism, particularly the Southern variety, has lost the test of time and history.

I mean this research is really just stating the obvious. Well no shit conservatism, particulary social conservatism is based on cowardess. The whole philosophy is based upon the fear of change.

It's amazing how things change though. Back in the 70's the Democrats were the party of rednecks and had adopted extreme left social welfare state polices that were irrepsponsible governance. Now it's the Republicans who've swung to the opposite extreme and have become the party of rednecks and irresponsible government and wreckless spending and bigotry.

So what you want the GOP to do is shift so far to the Left you cannot tell them apart from Democrats, right? Social conservatism is part and parcel to Conservative philosophy.

Democrats do seem to be very racist. They also engage in absolutely disgusting behaviors such as eating feces. They have no sense of cleanliness.

Maybe it's because of their underdeveloped malfunctioning brains.

Yeah, I am sure it is more pronounced in the southerners and social conservatives. Homophobes, xenophobes, etc. Those are not misnomers or errantly applied.

I could elaborate, but I am sure it would be lost on your disconnected neuronal capabilities. I will just leave you with your "liberals are uber smart and conservatives are uber stupid" meme. It will be simpler that way.

Proof positive of the OP. Thank you.

So, all of the poverty we see on the left is simply a result of risky and brave decision making throughout the lives of its practitioners?

No it is because the evil rich keep stealing all of their money. Don't you pay attention? You see the poor at one time had all of the money. Then the rich came along and took it. Sorta like Robin Hood in reverse on steroids if Robin Hood actually stole from the rich which he really didn't.

Ok, chickenshit. It seems I understood the article. Its suggestion that conservatives are frightened by change is obvious in several of the posts this morning.

It is not as if we have not known this for ages. There just happens to be some science to back it up now.

Actually, if you had read the article, you would have stopped at the first paragraph which stated that their findings showed no difference in risk taking behavior. But, as I said, you Statists always rely on "science" to further you Statist goals. It is a tactic as old as your statism.

That it was used to enslave and keep down blacks shouldn't come as a surprise. Remember the "science" that showed that blacks were inferior to whites?

Calling something science does not make it so. It is just an attempt by a statist like yourself to marginalize those with whom your disagree with politically and makes you a larger danger to freedom.

I read the WHOLE article. Risk taking in gambling does not seem to be affected (3rd paragraph). But gambling is about risk taking and the reaction to risks could influence behavior in other situations. The research seems to show that conservative attitudes inspire one to be fearful and activate the parts of the brain that deal with fear. In other words, you are teaching yourself to be a chickenshit.

Congratulations to you. that's the most idiotic statement I've ever read.

As for your collectivist claptrap on race, I do not need to answer for views I have never held because some idiot chooses to ignorantly apply a label to me and others. Likewise, I don't feel responsible for views expressed or actions taken by the confedaracy simply because I was born and raised in the south.

So whatever "liberals" you are vaguely referring to were wrong. There was never any valid scientific proof for the inferiority of blacks. Idiots like you continue to conflate previous eras where peer review and scientific methods were less advanced than they are now with modern science in an attempt to reject scientific inquiry that overturned the traditionally held views that you advocate.
