White House fails to make case that Russian hackers tampered with election

President Obama just needs to go golfing for the next few weeks and silently fade into the sunset.

He is planting his ass as close to, if not directly on Pennsylvania Avenue. Obama's monstrous ego will need feeding. Gone are the days of smooth transitions. Obama couldn't shake things up in any appreciable way in the end and now has made a conscience decision to blow shit up while he makes his totally unremarkable exit.

It's bad, bad country between BHO's ears.

So, do you really think the FBI and CIA are going to release all the information they have on this issue. How naive

all they need to do is provide it to the House Intelligence Committee charged with overseeing everything they do......that committee has a high enough clearance to see everything they have......when asked to do so before they ran......I wonder why they ran.....

Nobody is claiming the Russian hackers got into the voting machines and actually altered the vote count.

The hacking allegations involve their selectively releasing DNC emails for the purpose of keeping up the negative drum beat in the media regarding Clinton in order to sway public opinion.

Which is exactly what happened and anyone with a functioning brain can see it.

But hey, nice attempt at deflection and changing the subject.

Didn't work as usual, but nice attempt anyway.

so you're not angry that they hacked the election, you're just angry that Hillary looked bad......

In theory this should be easy but it's become a political vendetta by Obama and the left.

The House Intelligence committee exists for a reason. They should be consulted *before* there is talk of sanctions. They exist to prevent the executive branch from going off half-cocked and/or playing dictator in instances exactly like this.

But this is where the politics come in.

Obama can't risk this falling into Trump's hands; or worse, having the committee conclude there's insufficient evidence to sanction Russia. So he wants the sanctions ASAP in order to delegitimizatize Trump and to throw a diplomatic obstacle in front of Trump's administration and Putin.

If...if at some point our relationship with Russia deteriorates to outright war, future historians will not look kindly at Barack Hussein Obama for setting the relationship on that course. Thankfully, I don't see that happening because I think Putin genuinely doesn't want to go the war route---Cold or otherwise.

But it is grossly irresponsible nonetheless.

Maybe they don't want the committee looking into this; because those fingers might just point to someone or somewhere Obama doesn't want them too.
What would the public have to say if it was discovered that the DNC and Hillary were the ones leaking the info, all in an attempt to garner sympathy?

Or maybe Obama, the Clintons, and the DNC are waiting for the person responsible for the leaks, to commit "suicide" and then they can claim plausible deniability.

Grossly irresponsible is the Obama way.

I think Obama is going to look much worse when Trump is told by the committee that it was all malarky and Trump calls up Putin and invites the 35 diplomats to return to the US, that he's sorry but it was all Obama's fault for flying off the handle......

The intelligence and cyber security experts who have investigated and given their opinion that it was unmistakably a Russian operation, are the top people in the country. Some are retired CIA, some are actively employed by the govt and top private cyber security firms.

The notion that they would be mislead by such a simplistic, amatuer level tactic is too silly to even be considered laughable.

Your views on the other hand....

I don't believe they were misled but I do believe that politics is driving the release of information on this issue. And you're right, it was amateurish which is my point. You don't believe our guys would be amateur but you do believe the Russians would. Whoever did that wasn't an intel operator, it was probably some low-level democrat hack jackass.
