Hayakawa, who was seeking a second term at the time, was being urged by GOP officials to withdraw from the 1982 primary, a race that included, among others, Reps. Barry Goldwater Jr. & Bob Dornan, San Diego Mayor Pete Wilson, and First Daughter Maureen Reagan.

I brought up the story from 82 to show how long this kind of thing has been going on.

I didn't care then and I don't care now.

wow...you are really dishonest...if you can't handle being insulted when you insult others, then turn off your computer, close and lock all your doors, and turn off the lights.

It takes a very retarded kind of logic that can equate a comparison of the MSM treatment of a president during an oil spill and someone who thinks "just because a prosecution didn't happen 30 years ago that one should not happen now"...

Let's see this in analogy:

Analogy 1: A teacher has a student whose parents politics she despises so she grades this student on a tough learning curve way more tough than her new student, whose parents and her work on the same politcial campaign committees...for this favored student she substancially lowers the grading curve so he almost always excells, even when, if on the same curve as the other student, he'd be failing...

Analogy 2: A man shoots his wife and due to bad police work and a lack of good effort on the prosecutors behalf the man walks with a slap on the wrist. A new man is caught shooting his wife, but he should not be prosecuted because the policie and prosecutor failed to do a good job the first time...
