No, what I'm arguing is that we have to come to terms with the collateral damage caused by the sport. Because most NFL players last less than 3 seasons after putting in a lifetime of abuse to their own bodies. So the players need more protections and to be taken care of better once they leave the league. And if they have risen to that level, and decide they want to use their platform to advance their causes, they should be allowed to do so without retribution or condemnation.

All things are politics, and sports is just as political as anything else.
