I feel they are much like the Moral Majority.

They have done good, hospitals, etc., they are evil in that they suppress women and wish for a Theocracy.

The difference is I don't think the now-defunct MM advocated chopping off thieves' hands, genital mutilation, etc. Fundamentalist Christianity is nuts, but nothing in comparison to radical fundamentalist Islam.

You are in the minority. Most people recognize Israel for what it is: a nation with problems just as any other, but also one that strives to establish a free and equitable society. Israel's tactics are necessary considering their geographic location. Hell, most of the time I don't think they go far enough.
The concepts of secularism aren't shared, either. What you're asking for is societal chaos. Christianity is, and always has been, the glue of this country.

Christianity & religion in general is a private matter, which fortunately, everyone is free to make their own decisions on because of the Constitution & rule of law.
