Did you go third party? I have some friends who did that.

I did it too back in 2000 since at the time I lived in a solidly blue state that was going for Gore no matter what so I felt that if I voted Green it would possibly allow the Green party to start getting federal matching funds so that maybe in the future they would field someone that was valid. Unfortunately they don't. But that was my thinking.

I worry about third party votes in the recent election. Not sure if they sapped from Harris or sapped from Trump. Trump wound up winning by LESS THAN 50% of the overall vote, so it may have been the fracturing of the opposing party that lead to his success. Or maybe it didn't have that effect.

I sort of felt this election was more important than any I ever voted on in my 60 years of life, so I was a bit more nervous about how the numbers would go. Either way it doesn't much matter now. The larger number of voters went for Trump and Trump won fair and square.

The only thing to do now is quietly sit back and see if Trump is going to fuck everything to hell or not. I actually hope he DOESN'T because I'm old now and don't have a lot of time to rebuild if he craters the economy. So we'll see.

Ahhh, so you sat it out? (Honestly based on your posts I can't see you as a Trumpist so that leaves only a small number of alternatives).

I have a problem with folks who sat this one out because it was such a stark binary. But it's up to every individual whether they want to be part of the solution or just let it all burn up.

I can see the attraction of the latter now after the election. I don't understand how so many Americans went the way they did.

But surely you must see that Trump was WORSE. Right?

I mean there's no comparison between the two. I can see why some people didn't like Harris. It was suboptimal. But given the alternative it's like saying you don't like someone's haircut so you're going to vote for someone who decapitates people.

Democrats forced Biden out and humiliated him. I will never forgive the party for that.
