Prior to this "war"...Iran was collecting absolutely nothing for ships passing through the strait.
Now they are demanding $2,000,000 for every ship that passes through. If they get $10 for every ship...it is a win for them.

Trump decided to prove something the world already knew which is the US military can break shit.
Iran proved you can break their shit but that only strengthens their position in the country and extends them into power positions in the region that will allow them much more power on the world stage.
Iran also replaced an aged Ayahtola where the world was seeing signs of a possible softening in the regime with a much more hardline one who is much younger.

The Strait of Hormuz was open before Trump's War. Getting it hopefully open again is just getting back to the point where we started. That's not 'victory'.
The uranium stockpiles have not been eliminated, a hardline regime remains in power, and there is no improvement in the liberty and human rights of Iranian citizens.

^ that was not accurate as the entire reason for these wars of choice, past and current are too transfer billions or even trillions of tax payer dollars to the NeoCon Military Complex.
The more pointless the war, the more of a quagmire it becomes, the more they win.
And this was a MASSIVE win for them.
The US, Israel and all the Mideast countries have vastly depleted their defensive missiles and will need to reorder everything as just one huge payday to come for them.

Iran was never a conventional war big threat and would always get pummeled if they went that route but they wasted resources feeling they had to make a show as all nations do based on past warfare methods.
What Trump taught iran and other despot regimes is where their true power is and where they will all focus in the future.
Unconventional drone warfare that can close not just the Strait of Hormuz but the other key Strait in the area as well as an ability to destroy oil and water infrastructure in the region.
Iran can stockpile and hide an endless supply of these cheaper munitions and now they know how easily they brought Trump to his knees with them it would make no sense to rebuild for anything else.
I wonder who, in the end, will really be paying that $2M toll? I have a guess: Consumers.

I'll try. Two neighbors have to cross a bridge to get to town. The bridge is next to one neighbor's property. They get into an argument one day and the bridge neighbor barricades the bridge so the other one can't use it. The other neighbor threatens to blow up his house and kill all his livestock if he doesn't take down the barricade. The bridge neighbor says "okay, you win" and partially removes the barricade -- and now charges the other guy $10 to use it. Who won?

I actually feel sorry for people who have to try to cover for Trump...rather than just acknowledging that America (and the rest of humanity) would be much better off if he were fired.
