Well I can't blame you for that. Politics was always messy; but now the slop absolutely wreaks as well.

Still, I think it's wise for citizens of a democracy to stay well informed and actively engaged. If the only people who are motivated enough to get out and vote are the most deplorable haters then they start getting their way, and that hasn't worked out too well.
