WHy Defend Israel and not Ukraine?

You didn’t support American going after the Taliban in Afghanistan post 9/11. Yes America was attacked but we are also an oppressive nation and similar to Israel got our just desserts (not to justify the attack but nonetheless…). So why support Israel in responding but not the U.S.?

I "support" Ukraine's effort to kick that soviet era shithead putin's ass. Simply because they were bullied and attacked for no reason. My support and roundly unrequited love for Israel is different. It is fundamentally religious. I wish Ukraine well in it's struggle, but I wouldn't fight for them. On the other hand, if I thought Israel could use a disabled elderly guy who is still a decent marksman but would probably be a hindrance to his comrades-in-arms, I would be on a plane for Tel Aviv tomorrow. I am a Christian. The savior of my immortal soul is a Jew. I am a wild olive shoot grafted onto the nourishing olive tree that is Israel and Judaism.

17 But if some of the branches were broken off, and you, although a wild olive shoot, were grafted in among the others and now share in the nourishing root of the olive tree, 18 do not be arrogant toward the branches. If you are, remember it is not you who support the root, but the root that supports you.
