How many workers are you willing to put out of work by cutting military defense spending ?.....The impact will be substantial.

So, you're making an argument for military spending as sort of a permanent stimulus program for military workers?

We should spend as much on defense as is required to defend the country. No more or no less.

Conservatards can suck my ass with this one. We waist billions on the military, cut that before you talk to educated people about cutting hc.

This must be the reason so few respond to you.....you're an under educated fool at best....and you net worth is irrelevant. lol

It was a lot of factors but mostly the fact that he had to go so far right to get the nomination he looked bad trying to get back to the center. He also was forced into choosing Ryan over some candidates that would have been better suited. In short he lost due to the uncompromising nature of the far right wing.
I think that's a fair and accurate analysis. It's not all Romney's fault. This is a GOP loss. During the primaries the GOP managed to alienate Blacks, Latinos, Gays/Lesbians, Young People and Women. Over 90% blacks voted Obama, over 70% Latinos voted Obama, well over 60% of women voted Obama, over 70% of voters 25 and under voted Obama. With those demographics the GOP would have needed 65% of White males to vote for Romney. They didn't. Only 57% did. The large percentages of young people who voted for Obama indicates future bad news for Republicans.

Republicans need to distance themselves from hard core right wing conservative social policies and militarism. The people have rejected the politics of racism and for gods sakes how many times do we need to be able to destroy the world to feel safe?

Republicans need to do what they do best. Business! Stick to fiscal conservatism and sound business policy and distance themselves from social conservatism and militarism.

How about that attitude about welfare.....maybe no more Obamaphones ?, etc...
.

Just answer the question......a few hundred at each workplace....a few thousand ?.....
Good paying, middle class and above workers.....supplying us the BEST military equipment in the world....

Obama even prevented them from disclosing the layoffs prior to the election.....wonder why ?

Is it not better than unemployment checks for NOTHING in return.....?

His hard nose view about drugs didn't help him.

On Monday night football he said he wanted to crack down on performance enhancing drugs. Most people I know don't think that's the gov'ts business. He just reminded a lot of potential voters why to not vote for him.

And whats Obamas views on drug use ?

There are ways to cut in a phased approach so that the impact on workers is lessened, and ways to help those workers transition. I don't believe in a permanent stimulus program for the military.

We can't afford a cold war military budget, and more importantly, we do not need one. We can cut defense by at least 1/3.

And whats Obamas views on drug use ?

I'm curious to see what he does with the CO, and WA MJ law.

And most people hold the reps in a more bad light about their children, friends and family being run through the legal system/jail because of the genocide we call the war on drugs.

It can be phased out. They do it all the time anyway, as munition become obsolete! They can also start to phase out personel as people retire! they can cut back on nuclear arms, too! We have enough to destroy the world many times over. There are mny ways to make its without being drastic.

How about we just do away with foreign aid especially to the muslim brotherhood, let em hate us for free, then maybe more money would be available to help our own. Al Qaeda already thinks we are weak because of our lack of response in Benghazi. How about we stop propping up Islamic extremist regimes in the middle east. Egypt, Libya, and we are trying to help Syria be defeated, and are in back stabbing back room talks with Iran. Wonder how much we are promising them, educate yourself and get back to me.

Benghazi does not make Al Q think we are weak! What foolishness! Obama has shown by his drone attacks and his killing of Al Q leadrs that he is more determined than Bush to kill terrorists. Bad example!

It is the Presidents number one priority, and part of the oath he takes.

It does not include unnecessary wars and nation building! His oath is to protect the United States of America. We could cut a lot of military expense and till be the largest military in the world.

We could bring all the troops home. That would save a lot of money, and lives.

along with a whole bunch of innocent foreigners, don't forget.

Self made ?.....thats very subjective.....I doubt you came from any degree of poverty either....
no one ever claimed he did either and his background is probably not that much different than yours or Obamas by any significant degree for that matter.....
but all this is irrelevant to the election.

Ive never ever claimed to be self made. I am not self made. My parents and many other people helped me get where I am.

A self-made man, a man of great moral character, and outstanding public servant. You may disagree with him, but to assassinate the person for political reasons is sickening.

What a wonderful thing to say about our President! Thank you!

There's Bravo with more bullshit about women. Until you guys clean up these old lunatics seething with rage that women have sex for their own pleasure and aren't apologizing to anyone over it, you're doomed.

Stubborn old white coots like Bravo are why the Republican Party won't budge. It's going to die on the vine.

I could not care less if you have sex, just pay for your own contraception otherwise I am helping pay for you to have sex, then it is my business and I should be able to regulate it, just like anything else. As far as abortion, rape, incest, and mothers life, those are the circumstances under which Mitt was for a woman having an abortion. Obama said anytime, any place, and if it should happen to come out alive no care should be given, let it die, wow what a caring sum beetch! If you have sex remember pregnancy could occur, that is my public service announcement, be accountable for your actions

If you must try to act intelligent, at least learn to use proper grammar.

We need a certain level of military spending. We need to upgrade and modernize systems. We don't need systems that a defense contractor convinces a Senator we need by lining his pockets with cash. We need to cut waste in military spending. All of which the President wants to do.

Once we get the spending in line we can do what we really need to do. Keep, maintain and improve upon benefits for our veterans.

A shoddy canidate going against an incumbent. Damn, it sure is a mystery. Hey, since we're solving great mysteries, can anyone here guess why rain is wet?

I do agree he is a man of great moral cheracter and an outstanding public servant.

Thank you, Jarod. Along with Mott, you are a liberal that has been constructive in your criticism of Romney, separating the person from the policies with which you disagree. You're a decent fellow.
