Clinton was younger, and healthier than trump. There was a lot of claims that Clinton was too old, but trump was older. Clinton's husband was an extremely young (for a politician) 46 years old when first elected, while Obama was only a bit older at 47 years old. trump was the oldest president when coming to office, and now is the second oldest.

The Democrat Schumer is replacing the Republican McConnell. Schumer is 8 years younger than McConnell.

but why do dems have oldest career polititicians? that's what we were talking about.

there's no gen x candidates with dems, is the thing. it's hollowed out, like how elitists want to bifurcate the country with elitist policies. it's the oldest and most cynical pied pipering the youngest and most vulnerable, like their tendency toward nambla normalization. in transactional analysis it's an abisive relationship with one party stuck in parent abusively keeping the other pushed into child.
