Why has the driving force of the right become hatred of gays and trans.

When you have a very bad political platform, you have to change the subject. The reds believe that issues like gays and trans will get them votes. The party absolutely does not care about them. They want more money and power for the wealthy and corporations. That requires the sucker votes. They need the average person to vote against their own best interests. So they have used abortion, gay rights, a perversion of religion, and getting leftys to get votes. It seems to work quite well.
Don't worry about the Bilderbergs, or some wealthy overseers taking over the country. You are voting for them in America.

That is ONLY because Islam, in most of the world, has been on the losing side, compared to Christianity, with regards to who wields the most power and has been more on the winning side.

Disagreed since Islam is a close second to the world's largest religion and far ahead of #3, Hindus, not counting "unaffiliated"..of which I'm a member. Regarding the "religious right", they're are certainly on the right but they are only lip-service Christians as JPP proves daily. Those on the Left who slam all religions using examples such as 1/6ers are making exactly the same error as the RW extremists condemning all Muslims because of Hamas.

Part of it goes along with the fact
that some of the most religious people in the nation
are the least moral.

Fundamentalist religion simply isn't a part of sophisticated society.

Unfortunately, what were hopefully attempts by the founders
to afford us freedom from religion
have been interpreted to mean
protection for religion.

Even many progressive liberals oppose
its forced eradication.

The founders weren't good at choosing language.

They could have very clearly protected the secular state from religious nutjobs
but they did not.

In terms of World power, i do not. The Islamic world influence is limited almost entirely to Oil flex power and not much more.
