That’s called a cover-up by current standards and should he get away with obstruction?

He and Comey, Clapper and Baker are in a pickle right now. Maybe Brennan figures 'why not go for broke?' Obstruct, cover up, do whatever it takes
to block and delay the inevitable, then face the music later with some slimy lawyers.

Brennan may not have any formal authority over people but as a former head of the CIA his voice carries some weight. He’s at least at risk to being charged with one ‘count’ of obstruction.

from the main group - Brennan, Rosenstein, Baker, Lynch and McCabe.

Except it would be *criminal* intent if Brennan is trying to hinder the investigation to protect himself or others from prosecution.

In contrast, Trump knew he was innocent of the collusion charge so it would be impossible for him to have criminal intent in any obstruction case. In fact, if Trump so much as *suspected* the investigation was corrupt he had legitimate grounds to try and obstruct it.

In fact, it could be argued he had a responsibility to do so in order to protect the office of the presidency.

I don't think so. First, somebody has to actually obstruct justice. He has no authority to order anybody to do anything. Because some worker respects his opinion does not give them the power to withhold documents. Brennan's intent does not apply.
