SO if there's no pollutant, it's not really comparable to scenarios with actual pollution.
Noise is an actual pollutant. Yes, it has no residual. That's about the only difference. In every other way it is quite comparable. And since the word pollution implies a concentration to the degree it does harm, that's not all that different.
