Why Republicans hold the strange belief that Obama is a liberal

"Art. 11. As the Government of the United States of America is not, in any sense, founded on the Christian religion,—as it has in itself no character of enmity against the laws, religion, or tranquility, of Mussulmen,—and as the said States never entered into any war or act of hostility against any Mahometan nation, it is declared by the parties that no pretext arising from religious opinions shall ever produce an interruption of the harmony existing between the two countries."

Article 11 is very interesting considering it in the context of todays war on Islam!

Yes they were terrorists then too. Again, article 11 was omitted once the US got the upper hand and was able to correct the error. There's no evidence that it was even submitted that way to Tripoli. This is a standard attack on Christianity by liberals and it carries no water.

Because when you're on Neptune, New York and Los Angeles don't look that far apart. Modern conservatism is just an extremely radical and paranoid ideology without comparison in American history.
Relativity my son. Relativity. If you're on the far right, like such people as SM, Dixie, Dwebway, Dano, etc, even some one from the center right is going to be marginalized as "A Godless Liberal".

It has no bearing on reality unless your a mindless partisan hack and should be completely ignored. Obama is a centrist. The fact that he's taking about as much shit from the far left as he is from the far right is proof positive of that.

Obama isn't even close to center right. It's silly to suggest he is. When did somebody in the "center right" promote incrementalism towards socialized single-payer health care? That alone tells me he isn't even close to "right" and further from center than I would feel comfortable with.

When I read his book and got to the part where he was "behind enemy lines" when he got a job at a corporation... yeah, that told me he wasn't close to "center"...

Obama has given more to the poor than anyone can add up.

He's extreemly liberal, with a very good head fake to the center right.

To me he is too far right.
