The Scum of the Earth: GOP Senator Blocks Bill to Increase Benefits for Veterans
Senator Patty Murray (D-WA), Chairman of the Senate Veterans Affairs Committee, has announced that an anonymous GOP Senator has blocked a bill to provide veterans and their spouses with a Cost of Living increase in the benefits they receive.
You read that right. What has been since time out of mind a thoroughly non-partisan and non-controversial annual act has been anonymously blocked by some Senate Republican for reasons passing understanding. This bill affects 3.9 million veterans and their families, and the cowardly ball of filth who did this has not come forward.
"This is stunning" said Senator Murray. "Particularly because we still don't have any indication why someone would block a cost-of-living adjustment for veterans and their surviving spouses, many of whom are struggling to make ends meet. This adjustment for our disabled veterans is hard earned and well deserved."

Republicans in Senate Block Bill on Student Loan Rates

Republicans Use Filibuster to Kill Latest Piece of Jobs Plan
Senate Republicans blocked a $60 billion infrastructure bill Thursday, making the bill the second piece of President Obama’s jobs proposal to be voted down in the Senate.
The bill garnered 51 votes--not enough to overcome the 60-vote cloture threshold.
The Democratic bill, which includes a $10 billion national infrastructure bank, is funded by a 0.7 percent surtax on incomes of more than $1 million a year. That is nonstarter for Republicans...

House votes to block Obama plan to close Guantanamo
Despite a hunger strike by at least 104 of the 166 prisoners and appeals from Obama that the prison is too expensive to maintain and a recruiting tool for anti-American militants, the House voted, 249-174, to defeat an amendment calling for its shutdown by the end of 2014.

Republicans block Reid move to form Senate budget conference
Democrats say Republicans want to avoid a public conference on the budget that would highlight their opposition to raising taxes on the wealthy.
They argue the GOP opposition to setting up a conference committee is hypocritical, given GOP calls for a return to regular order.
“It seems House Republicans don’t want to be seen even discussing the possibility of compromise with the Democrats for fear of a Tea Party revolt,” Reid said.

The Real Anti-Americans Are the Republicans in the Senate
Before Obama was even inaugurated, on January 16, 2009, the radio host Rush Limbaugh put into words what quickly became the guiding passion of the GOP: “I hope Obama fails.” Two years later, on the eve of the 2010 midterms, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) added his now-famous pronouncement: “The single most important thing we want to achieve is for President Obama to be a one-term president.” (Not “The single most important thing we want is to reduce unemployment in America,” or “The single most important thing we want is to speed the economic recovery in America”; doing that would help America, but it might not help the Republican Party.)
In thrall to Limbaugh, lining up like lemmings behind their Minority Leader, the Republicans have used the filibuster to turn the Senate into the most dysfunctional legislative body in the history of U.S. politics.

The Republicans’ Unprecedented Obstructionism by the Numbers
Time after time, President Obama could count the votes he received from Congressional Republicans on the fingers (usually the middle one) of one hand. The expansion of the State Children's Health Insurance Program (S-CHIP) to four million more American kids earned the backing of a whopping eight GOP Senators. (One of them, Arlen Specter, later became a Democrat.) Badly needed Wall Street reform eventually overcame GOP filibusters to pass with the support of just three Republicans in the House and Senate, respectively. Last summer, it took 50 days for President Obama to get past Republican filibusters of extended unemployment benefits and the Small Business Jobs Act. As for the DISCLOSE Act, legislation designed to limit the torrent of secret campaign cash unleashed by the Supreme Court's Citizens United ruling, in September Republican Senators prevented it from ever coming to a vote.

Republicons don't believe in govt., society, community or America.
They only believe in making their international backers wealthier than they all ready are.
Prove me wrong.
