Why the left dislikes Romney.

I believe he has historically failed ideas that have proven time and time again to harm this country

Oh, come on, you know the answer to this, why you playing dumb? :)

I'm not playing dumb, I haven't heard Desh's interpertation of it.

I disagree with the premise that the financial meltdown was caused by tax cuts. So if her argument is that it was why would Obama continue to cut taxes?

They aren't all "Bush people"... That's silly. Some are, most are not.

Reality: The policies of this President that I dislike are the exact same policies that I disliked about the last one, just "improved", bigger and with more government... There is literally nothing different in what I disliked about Bush and Obama other than Obama does it with more borrowed money than Bush.

The hilarious thing, Romney won't be any different. This country is stuck in a plutocratic runt that is not likely to change and the middle class in this country will die as a result of our stupidity.

Deregulation and tax cuts caused this mess.

its all robmoney will give this country

Right...

Desh, when Bush asked for more regulation of F&F and that industry who was it that said that it was all good and fought those regulations tooth and nail? I'll give you a hint, it wasn't republicans.

17 times he asked for for regulation, only once the House passed something and the Senate didn't. (from the article) "Much if not all of that could have been prevented by a bill cosponsored by John McCain and supported by all the Republicans and opposed by all the Democrats in the Senate Banking Committee in 2005. That bill, which the Democrats stopped from passing, would have prohibited the GSEs from speculating on the mortgage-based securities they packaged. The GSEs' mission allegedly justifying their quasi-governmental status was to package or securitize such mortgages, but the lion's share of their profits—which determined top executives' bonuses—came from speculation."

Hence my vote for Johnson.

deregulation and tax cuts you fool.

Deregulation is what your right wing wants more of along with tax cuts.

As I do with Obama. And to really ensure it, he takes everything I dislike about the previous president and magnifies it, only the truly partisan can say they disliked Bush but like this guy. His policies are a near match in almost every way from insane spending to more big government. What's worse is that Romney and Obama are nearly identical on foreign policy...

Yes Desh. The question was why would Obama continue to cut taxes if tax cuts caused the financial meltdown?

then why are any of you pretending johnson would not be just another stabb by the right at deregulation and tax cuts?

Damo, the quote you have from that article is total horseshit. The Republicans controlled the Senate Banking Committee in 2005 and could easily have passed the bill out of committee if they wanted to on a party line vote. They didn't. The Democrats had nothing to do with it. Also, too, the vast majority of House Democrats voted in favor of the bill, they didn't fight it "tooth and nail."

Also, too, whether the bill would have actually done anything vis-a-vis the housing market is suspect at best. It may have helped the GSE from requiring such significant bailouts by imposing more stringent capital requirements on the GSE, but it's highly unlikely it would have done anything to prevent the housing collapse at all.

Deregulation caused this mess.

they did it so the wealthy could get wealthier.

The tax cuts were all part of the Norquist plan to weaken the government of the people.

they want it weak so they can kill it.

He said so himself.

He hates even a bigger percent of the American people than robmoney

And why did Obama continue cutting taxes for four years?

Something the GOP would like us all to forget.
