Definitely. There are far fewer cameras in the countryside. It is speed cameras that obsess the rural folks most though...

I don't think so. Most rural people are rural born and bred.

City people tend to recognise the problem we have with the British Disease (alcoholic violence) and see the good city-centres cameras do. Its only when the cameras become more obtrusive that people complain.

Speed cameras are loathed by motorists, but only for the reason that they enforce the speed limits, and no motorist likes to travel below 70mph.... lol

Right, but there is a large drive by the more libertarian Americans to keep them the heck out. So that not every moment of every day is videotaped for Big Brother. Unlike some places...

There are similar campaigns here. If they become too intrusive, ie they go beyond the city/town centres and traffic areas, they will be vandalised.

Point being, here, even in the cities they get vandalized. People here are not as accepting of Big Brother, yet... Bush is working towards it, but people are fighting it.

Naaah the US prople are not really fighting it very much. Too spoiled, lazy and stupid. apathathetic as a whole. I am just sorry that those of us who think are sucked along in the backdraft of the stupid sheeple masses following whatever appeals to them at the moment.
