Why this will backfire on Israel

from what i have read all accounts say hamas broke the ceasefire...if you have other sources that say differnt, would like to see them

"Under the terms of the new agreement, Israel will ease restrictions on the trade of certain goods between Gaza and Israel on Friday morning, and open up the crossings for all commercial goods next week. "
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/middle_east/7462554.stm

This never happened.

do you know what hamas' charter says about israel and islam...that may answer some serious questions here as to a resolution, don't you think...i am interested in your opinion on their charter

Yes, mate, i am aware of the Hamas charter. It may surprise you but i'm pretty much against your average religious nutters as the next man.

However, it is not written in stone and when Hamas became the governing party of Palestine it was made clear that there was significant room for manoeuvre on abandoning it as part of a long-term solution. Extremist organizations often do that type of thing when they get elected, you know? They formed a government of national unity with Fatah and declared their willingness to talk (2-state solutions, 50-year ceasefires, that type of extremist rhetoric)

Israel refused to talk to a government containing Hamas. They obviously didn't like what they nurtured.

that is YOUR opinion, NOT fact. it is apparent YOU hate them, but they are not the most hated nation on earth...nice try bigot

No need to spend much time with this .. as I've said before, I don't expect you to know anything.

Poll: Israel, Iran, U.S. have most negative image

Israel was viewed negatively by 56 percent of respondents and positively by 17 percent; for Iran, the figures were 54 percent and 18 percent. The United States had the third-highest negative ranking, with 51 percent citing it as a bad influence and 30 percent as a good one. Next was North Korea, which was viewed negatively by 48 percent and positively by 19 percent.

Robert Fisk: Why do they hate the West so much, we will ask

So once again, Israel has opened the gates of hell to the Palestinians. Forty civilian refugees dead in a United Nations school, three more in another. Not bad for a night's work in Gaza by the army that believes in "purity of arms". But why should we be surprised?

Have we forgotten the 17,500 dead – almost all civilians, most of them children and women – in Israel's 1982 invasion of Lebanon; the 1,700 Palestinian civilian dead in the Sabra-Chatila massacre; the 1996 Qana massacre of 106 Lebanese civilian refugees, more than half of them children, at a UN base; the massacre of the Marwahin refugees who were ordered from their homes by the Israelis in 2006 then slaughtered by an Israeli helicopter crew; the 1,000 dead of that same 2006 bombardment and Lebanese invasion, almost all of them civilians?

Yes, Israelis deserve security. Twenty Israelis dead in 10 years around Gaza is a grim figure indeed. But 600 Palestinians dead in just over a week, thousands over the years since 1948 – when the Israeli massacre at Deir Yassin helped to kick-start the flight of Palestinians from that part of Palestine that was to become Israel – is on a quite different scale. This recalls not a normal Middle East bloodletting but an atrocity on the level of the Balkan wars of the 1990s. And of course, when an Arab bestirs himself with unrestrained fury and takes out his incendiary, blind anger on the West, we will say it has nothing to do with us. Why do they hate us, we will ask? But let us not say we do not know the answer.

I'm pretty sure you wouldn't recognizea fact if it bit you in the ass. Israel is in violation of more UN Resolutions than any nation in history and to suggest it is not hated is indeed mindboggling.

Paying any attention to the worldwide protests one could quite easily ascertain that there are are very few, mostly very small, that demonstrate any support for Israel.

Add to that Israel supported Hamas when their adversary was the PLO.

Careful BAC, we don't want to overload him with facts.

And now they fallen back in love with the PLO's offspring, Fatah. Israel is a very fickle beau.

This is all true. Lesser of two evils, wasn't quite the case.

I don't think governments will ever learn to abandon the 'my enemy's enemy' mantra.

Virtually every terrorist organization of the last 50-60 years has, at some time, been funded by us lot, you lot or the Russians.

Significantly, the poll was taken beginning in November, when the memory of the second Lebanon war, bitter, bloody, and high in civilian casualties, was fresh.

what does written in stone have to do with this? are you telling me that you would sit down and talk with a government that that called for your anihilation...as if hey, "its not set in stone" let's be friends! i am surprised that you know this given your defense of them. but for the others that may not know this, let's see it laid out, something i had hoped you would do so as to discuss it:

"Israel will exist and will continue to exist until Islam will obliterate it, just as it obliterated others before it." (The Martyr, Imam Hassan al-Banna, of blessed memory).

you want solutions charver, i suggest this be stricken from the charter now, if not, there can never be peace...as hamas by its own definition must OBLITERATE israel

or are you going to play coy and claim that hamas, by stating islam, doesn't really want to obliterate israel, but just put the words in to piss of the israelis...
