There was actually a time when I loved Florida--especially the Miami Beach area and the attractions near it.
Great hotels, nightclubs, and restaurants.
Thoroughbred racing, greyhound racing, and Jai alai (back before I looked at racing from the animal's perspective).
Good golf courses.
Spring training baseball not too far away.
Warm weather.
What wasn't to love?
If it had casinos then, it would have been Las Vegas with a beach!!!
Then came 2000.
I wouldn't spend a penny there now.
