Why We Need Gun Restrictions

A farmer's market, dickhead :palm:

Two idiots that think modern societies can function without vehicles.

How do you get to work, fool? Walk?

It doesn't look like that individual is walking, does it dickhead?
It looks like he's taking his produce to the farmer's market... :palm:

" Amish being able to function in modern society without the use of motorized vehicles and equipment? " R6 #318
I'm a native New Yorker. We have a prominent Mennonite community here.

In addition to d7 #319 (thanks) I add, these communities when genuinely separated from 3rd millennium culture, merely subsist.

Some of the Mennonites here work within the economy, mainly doing construction labor, and doing quite well.

But in so doing, they are benefiting from 3rd millennium Western civilization, even if to the amateur, not seemingly directly engaged in it.

A point you may wish to consider R6:
Your Internet persona reflects your avatar, a fundamentally angry, frustrated person.
If that's the way you wish to live your life, so be it.
But I've sampled a variety of approaches to living. And what I've found is, serenity is its own reward.

Your self-defeating attitude about post format is a handy example.
If you read only posts with such format, would you not miss comments introduced that are not in reply?

If instead of enslaving yourself to the quote feature, you approach each thread for what it is throughout its life, a work in progress, you may learn to enjoy the flow of such topic discussions more easily.
And on the broader scale, if you learn to enjoy these topics more, you may find you enjoy life more.

Just a thought.
Enjoy your weekend.

Historic note:
For most of U.S. history reins were long narrow strips of leather used as ropes to control a horse or team.
Ever wonder how such long reins were obtained, when such ribbons of leather are longer than the cattle from which they were taken?

Happy Halloween

Mennonites use modern equipment, I purchased my new tractor from a Mennonite Ag center. They have nothing in common with the Amish community, other than they're hard workers.
I am not angry, just frustrated with the liberal/progressive ideology because it insults the founding ideals of this country.
As for my avatar, it's shows what some liberals do here on a daily basis, scream through typed words without intelligent thought.
I recently turned 58 and am now retired. I have attained everything I need to make the rest of my life enjoyable. I have nice home in a rural setting, loyal friends and family, a good woman and enough "toys" and activities to keep me content. I come to this forum for entertainment mostly, but am saddened at the disrespect for this country's founding ideals shown by some here.
I also have little interest on going back and looking for posts when it is simple enough to use the quote function to inform others of my replies but I do read comments not introduced by the quote feature. That should be obvious as I reply to your posts. The feature just makes it easier to see a post has been replied to.
This weekend will be cool and rainy. I'll probably just go shoot a few racks of pool with my friends this afternoon and go out for dinner this evening with the GF. Tomorrow I'll just kick back and watch the drag races on TV. Life is good.

" Mennonite ... have nothing in common with the Amish community " R6
Mennonites are more like the Amish than most other groups in the U.S.. But one obvious trait they share is Christianity.
I've dined with Mennonites. We didn't get through a single meal without religious invocation.

Republicans control the exec.
Republicans control the house.
Republicans control the senate.
Republicans control our supreme court.

If you're "frustrated" now, you're going to be a whole lot more "frustrated" after the big blue wave gives you a good soaking.

Our Revolutionary history is, apart from today's news, my favorite window of history.
I'm resolutely devoted to virtually all of our noble Founding principles, and very often quote our nation's Founders.
That's why I so rarely approve Republican agenda.

President Bush (younger) is reportedly the first U.S. president ever to both initiate War, cut taxes simultaneously.
Sadly, unlike in Barry Goldwater's day, Republicans no longer champion $fiscal $responsibility.

I'm planning to vote Libertarian again, early next month.

a) It's your avatar cupcake.
b) You insinuate that you're intelligent enough to recognize an "intelligent thought" even if it's a point of view other than your own. But your posting style casts serious doubt on that. Your impaired perception on what qualifies for "intelligent thought" seems to be simply if you agree.
"Life is good." R6
My point precisely.

But my avatar is just a happy pumpkin embraced by royal purple. You ooze anger both symbolically, and literal expression.

Yes, both Mennonites and Amish share religious values, they say a prayer before meals. If you despise that I'd suggest you dine with atheists.
We'll see if there's a "blue wave" come November. Either way, life will go on.
Apparently your "intelligent thought" seems to be simply if you disagree. Am I to assume there's a difference?
And you make captious judgements on poster's avatars? Should I change it to my sports car? Or would that depict me as an anti environmentalist?

Retarded libtard posted the picture how he does and is too stupid to see it :palm:

lol

Stupid fuck can’t admit his massively ignorant claim that vehicles are not necessary in a modern society.

How do you get to work, moron? Do you grow all your own food? :rofl2:

You're even way too stupid to be a troll. Go back to bed...and change your diaper!

Hey, stupid fuck. How do thise Amish get their mail? Pony Express?:rofl2:

Are you walking to work these days, dumbfuck?

Amish don't deliver their own mail, the post office does :palm:
I'm retired, dickhead.
And, by the way, what does all this have to do with gun restrictions?
And change your diaper!!

They are both friends and neighbors. I wasn't there at gunpoint. I was there by gracious invitation.
It was a charmed experience. I was welcomed into their home, embraced by their culture.

In addition, ingratitude is a self-inflicted curse. I consider myself extremely fortunate to have had the opportunity to strap on the feed-bag with such fine people. Even though I don't share their faith, I do share their reverence.

President Trump with less than half a 4 year term complete, has withdrawn the U.S. from TWO international nuclear agreements.
- One with Iran.
- One with Russia.

Perhaps a valid definition of "intelligent" will help you out of the mire of your overwhelming ignorance.

R6:
"Captious" means "Marked by a disposition to find and point out trivial faults. * "
That's a sly subterfuge to mischaracterize keen perception.
I know how to connect the dots. You haven't refuted my point. You've merely dismissed it.

intelligent (în-tèl´e-jent) adjective

- Showing sound judgment and rationality: an intelligent decision; an intelligent solution to the budget problem.
- Appealing to the intellect

[Latin intelligêns, intelligent-, present participle of intellegere, intelligere, to perceive : inter-, inter- + legere, to choose.]
- intel´ligen´tial (-jèn´shel) adjective
- intel´ligently adverb

Synonyms: intelligent, bright, brilliant, knowing, quick-witted, smart, intellectual. These adjectives mean having or showing mental keenness. Intelligent usually implies the ability to cope with demands arising from novel situations and new problems and to use the power of reasoning and inference effectively: The most intelligent students do additional reading to supplement the material in the textbook. Bright implies quickness or ease in learning: Some children are brighter in one subject than in another. Brilliant suggests unusually impressive mental acuteness: "The dullard's envy of brilliant men is always assuaged by the suspicion that they will come to a bad end" (Max Beerbohm). Knowing implies the possession of knowledge, information, or understanding: Knowing furniture collectors bought American antiques before the prices soared. Quick-witted suggests mental alertness and prompt response: We were successful not because we were quick-witted but because we persevered. Smart refers to quick intelligence and often a ready capability for taking care of one's own interests: The smartest lawyers avoid the appearance of manipulating juries. Intellectual stresses the working of the intellect and especially implies the capacity to grasp difficult or abstract concepts: The scholar's interest in the intellectual and analytical aspect of music didn't prevent her from enjoying concerts.

All that bullshit just to say your opinion of me is that I'm unintelligent?
You need a life. Mine's just fine as it is. That is all.

If you're too stupid to realize how mail is delivered, I cannot enlighten you. You're beyond tutoring.
I grow some of my food, and get the rest from local farmers, orchards and butchers. Living in a rural
area has it's benefits, fresh food is one of them. You city assholes get what's left after we get the choicest picks.
Sucks to be you, doesn't it dickhead?

The reference to the mail delivery went right over your head, didn’t it, moron?

How do those farmers get their produce to maket, Einstein? Wagon train? :rofl2:

Wow that's OT's rationale. A guy stopping a robber and protecting himself from getting stabbed.

What an idiot the OP is.
