Why won't Trump supporters take the Trump vaccine?

I would assume there are rare cases, but I doubt the number has exceeded a dozen or so. Meanwhile, every day, lack of vaccine kills hundreds. I guess the difference between myself and the Trumptards is that I know that 12 is less than 10,000 and they don't.

Trumpians aren't very good at math other than 6 packs, 12 packs, 18 packs, etc.

  • For public awareness and in the interest of transparency, CDC is providing timely updates on the following serious adverse events of interest:
    [*]
[*]Anaphylaxis after COVID-19 vaccination is rare and has occurred in approximately 2 to 5 people per million vaccinated in the United States. Severe allergic reactions, including anaphylaxis, can occur after any vaccination. If this occurs, vaccination providers can effectively and immediately treat the reaction. Learn more about COVID-19 vaccines and allergic reactions, including anaphylaxis.
[*]Thrombosis with thrombocytopenia syndrome (TTS) after Johnson & Johnson’s Janssen (J&J/Janssen) COVID-19 vaccination is rare. As of July 12, 2021, more than 12.8 million doses of the J&J/Janssen COVID-19 Vaccine have been given in the United States. CDC and FDA identified 38 confirmed reports of people who got the J&J/Janssen COVID-19 Vaccine and later developed TTS. Women younger than 50 years old especially should be aware of the rare but increased risk of this adverse event. There are other COVID-19 vaccine options available for which this risk has not been seen. Learn more about J&J/Janssen COVID-19 Vaccine and TTS.
[*]To date, two confirmed cases of TTS following mRNA COVID-19 vaccination (Moderna) have been reported to VAERS after more than 321 million doses of mRNA COVID-19 vaccines administered in the United States. Based on available data, there is not an increased risk for TTS after mRNA COVID-19 vaccination.
[*]CDC and FDA are monitoring reports of Guillain-Barré Syndrome (GBS) in people who have received the J&J/Janssen COVID-19 Vaccine. GBS is a rare disorder where the body’s immune system damages nerve cells, causing muscle weakness and sometimes paralysis. Most people fully recover from GBS, but some have permanent nerve damage. After 12.8 million J&J/Janssen COVID-19 Vaccine doses administered, there have been around 100 preliminary reports of GBS identified in VAERS. These cases have largely been reported about 2 weeks after vaccination and mostly in men, many 50 years and older. CDC will continue to monitor for and evaluate reports of GBS occurring after COVID-19 vaccination and will share more information as it becomes available.
[*]Myocarditis and pericarditis after COVID-19 vaccination are rare. As of July 12, 2021, VAERS has received 1,047 reports of myocarditis or pericarditis among people ages 30 and younger who received a COVID-19 vaccine. Most cases have been reported after mRNA COVID-19 vaccination (Pfizer-BioNTech or Moderna), particularly in male adolescents and young adults. Through follow-up, including medical record reviews, CDC and FDA have confirmed 633 reports of myocarditis or pericarditis. CDC and its partners are investigating these reports to assess whether there is a relationship to COVID-19 vaccination. Learn more about COVID-19 vaccines and myocarditis.
[*]Reports of death after COVID-19 vaccination are rare. More than 334 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines were administered in the United States from December 14, 2020, through July 12, 2021. During this time, VAERS received 6,079 reports of death (0.0018%) among people who received a COVID-19 vaccine. FDA requires healthcare providers to report any death after COVID-19 vaccination to VAERS, even if it’s unclear whether the vaccine was the cause. Reports of adverse events to VAERS following vaccination, including deaths, do not necessarily mean that a vaccine caused a health problem. A review of available clinical information, including death certificates, autopsy, and medical records, has not established a causal link to COVID-19 vaccines. However, recent reports indicate a plausible causal relationship between the J&J/Janssen COVID-19 Vaccine and TTS, a rare and serious adverse event—blood clots with low platelets—which has caused deaths.

Great information. So basically, even if EVERY person in the VAERS who died died as a result of being vaccinated, that's still way less than the number of unvaccinated who have died of Covid. Math is your friend. Unless you are in a cult.

Great post. Kudos and agreed overall. I don't understand the tech but trust the global medical and related scientific communities know what they are doing**.

There is no doubt in my mind that history will judge Trump on how his missteps cost needless lives and billions of both taxpayer dollars and GDP.

Afterall, scientists are very same people who provided the technology to nuke two cities and end WWII.
I posted a link months ago. mRNA technology was originated by a Hungarian born scientist at a university in Pa. back in the 90's. She couldn't get funding because she kept getting serious immune responses to the synthetic RNA. She gave up, and eventually started up again when another scientist took interest and came up with a work around.

Funding rolled in and they were near the finish line when Obama took a serious interest, along with numerous private donors. mRNA technology is much safer than egg based vaccinations. The side effects mentioned by the morons in this thread are from the J/J vaccine.

All effects are temporary, and only seem to appear in people over 50.

you can't prove he lied

Son, that's not what was asked. Why do you believe Trump never lies or has never lied to you, his supporter?

What are your thoughts on Trump's betrayal of all his fans arrested for 1/6? He could have pardoned them. He had two fucking weeks to decide and he passed.

Why are you okay with that? Are you really going to blame Democrats for Trump's cowardice and betrayal? The Proud Boys didn't, initially.

Thanks. I filled out the post-vaccine report when notified by text. I had nothing more than the usual light soreness in my arm and fatigue the next day.

Funny how when naysayers offer anecdotes, they ignore the millions who have had no symptoms at all.

AstraZeneca is probably the worst. I believe that's all Europe had. Clapton said that he thought he'd never play guitar again. He got serious burning in his hands for weeks, but it subsided.

My buddy got the J/J vaccine and was violently ill. But...he's positive that he had Covid late in '19, so it would be expected that he have a strong immune response.

Anecdotal evidence is rarely given credence in any scientific study. It's noted, and can be watched for in the future in the stated demographic.

Which vax did you get? We got Moderna. Just sore arms for a couple of days, and a bit of tiredness, too. We never got anything asking us, though.

Same. I had Moderna. Very slight fever after 2nd dose, which pretty much makes all of your aches and pains present at once. I took 1/2 day off and rested.

See above. I wasn't sore at all after the 1st dose. 2nd seemed to be worse.

I'm sore every day anyway ;)

I had pfizer. My wife had moderna. She had some very minor side effects after the first dose, nothing after the second. I had nothing with either.

Interesting. It's unusual to have absolutely no minor issues after the 2nd.

I live w/a nurse who got Covid in May of last year when it was still a 'secret'. Of course, she was seeing it in the hospital every day. She had a medium grade head cold for three days after having the worst headaches of her life for three days prior.

I didn't get it from her. She had fever after her first dose due to her antibodies.

If I wasn't old and decrepit from years of sports and work, I might not have had any aches after my second.

Correct. The Cultists believe all sorts of funny things. No doubt they'd do better if their shaman free to hand out potions with his "special sauce" at Trump rallies.

Exactly; the second dose was the hard one. Regardless, I've had similar minor reactions to vaccines; that's the purpose - to cause the body to react and generate antibodies. Not a biologist. I just get the shot.

Moderna. Rural north Texas at a county hospital. They were pretty efficient in how it was organized by the time I got mine late in March(?)

Seems that the older you are the fewer the symptoms; either from waning immune response, or us geezers' immune systems have seen it and done it all. lol My 12-yo g-son got a high fever and felt really crappy for a couple of days after the 2nd, while his brother (age 14) just felt a little icky for a day or so.

Yup.

I never get the flu shot, even though my doc asks me every year. I don't need it. My immune system is very strong, and I tend to avoid humans in crowds.

I didn't really think I needed the Covid vaccine either, but I wanted to be a statistic so that my state could open up. I believe that I'm much safer for having gotten it, though. No down side. I got it at the local grocery store. Pretty easy. By that time all front line workers got it, and there were no bad results.
