Why would anyone listen to the President's State of the Union speech tomorrow night?

I mean, I've listen to quite a few, Democrat and Republican, Trump's joint session last year, even remember Nixon's in 1969, but I can't find any reason why I would watch Trump's speech tomorrow night

You know he's going to start off erroneously claiming credit for everything short of the sun rising, and from there offer contrived reasons for policies on immigration, infrastructure, and the like all of which could change by tomorrow morning. The call for unity and bipartisanship will be prevalent, which will be hollow considering up to yesterday he has personally attacked a good number of the people he now asks for cooperation

The President is lucky the Democrats don't have any Joe Wilson's on their side cause if they did the person would have a field day and definitely throw Trump off his rhythm glued reading the teleprompter right to left

You'd have to be a real Trumpkin to sit thru this one

the same reason you watch any of them.

you are a giant moron with nothing better to do with your precious time.

That's not true, prior President's may have been predictable, all weren't, but at least they had a degree of credibility, this President doesn't even come close

Don’t. Personally if I were Trump it would be 30 seconds. “The state of our union is strong. MAGA BITCHES” and drop the mike

Yeah, that would sell, he already has an image problem, even your radio demogogues would have a hard time promoting that one

the format has been utterly ridiculous for decades.

if you fall for these dog and pony shows, it speaks volumes about yourself.

MAGA baby...it's off and running.. across the board wage increases, bonuses, stock market 2.6-3+% GPD
and lots of good jobs

Infrastructure and immigration reform + border security should be a deal both sides want -
but the Dems show no desire but to "resist"

It's the modern American desire to establish a tradition- which is laughable to native Americans.

I would, but I have to alphabetize my spices instead.

Why, you know the vast majority of could be fabrications or could easily be reversed tomorrow

It just gives a basis for remarks without relying on media for initial impressions. I always force myself to listen to the opposition speak prior to getting the pundits' view. No big deal though, I was just answering your question.

For the first time in my adult life I’m intentionally skipping it.

Do you really think anyone cares?

I haven’t watched one in years. Even during Bush, I didn’t. They are all pretty boring.

But I don’t think Trump will care that you don’t watch. So you? Maybe you can get drunk and drive off a cliff with Ginsburg?

My whole 10th grade class is planning to watch....minus 2. Actually I overheard some of them talking about DVRing it because they have a game tomorrow night.

Sadly, I’ll miss the speech. ;)

I don't know why. For one thing I can't stand the sound of his voice, it's like nails on a chalkboard. I agree with your 2nd paragraph about taking credit for everything. And he'll probably throw in the usual about "crooked Hillary", 3 million illegal immigrants voting, Mexico's going to pay for the wall... his standard laundry list of lies and boasts. Hope the fact checkers are geared up for this.
