Unlike most Americans before 9/11, all the military officers I knew expected that it was only a matter of time before the Jihadists accomplished a major strike against the US. While the audacity of using airliners as missiles was surprising, it wasn't like the idea was unknown.

The first attack on the WTC in 1993 should have been a fucking clue to all, but our nation's leaders were too busy cutting the military budget after the Soviet Union collapsed to worry about it.

Oh yes. Everyone in the military and the smart ones knew it was a matter of time before WTC was attacked again. Clinton knew. Bush knew.

Why didn't they act on the intelligence?

RWers cutting the budget of the CIA and FBI will be the ones responsible for leaving the US defenseless. Fuck those assholes.

Clinton was too busy gettin' busy with Monica. Bush was in office less than 9 months. There were a lot of balls in the air for a new administration and, let's be honest, he wasn't the brightest president ever elected.

Mainly I blame budget cuts of our national defense and intelligence networks. Then it was Democrats, now it's Republicans. If we get nuked or another major terrorist attack, I'll be blaming the Republicans just like I blame the Democrats for 9/11.

Actually, it was the Truman government that handed China the technology... His administration, in a combination of racism and fear of Communism, deported mathematician and rocket scientist Qian Xuesen who became the "Father of Chinese Rocketry."

All Clinton did was sell China some better technology that let them advance what they already had further. Obama let Iran off the hook so they too could continue to develop nukes and ballistic missiles without sanctions.

What is it that you're hearing in the military that would cause my hair to rise? If as you say the odds of me being nuked are extremely low, then what exactly
is it that should concern me from what the military knows? What we all should know by following the news these past 3 years is that obama and biden have
funded the world's #1 terrorist nation (Iran) by the tens of billions of dollars to help them create nuclear power and to help Iran train and weaponize all of
its many terrorist proxies like Hezbollah and Hamas. So is this what you're referring to when you say there's something our military knows that will cause my
hair to rise? Thanks to biden's lackluster approach to doing anything at all to put an end to the some 61 attacks of American installations in Syria and Iraq
makes Iran that much sure that he'll have no resistance in bombing American and Israeli sites at will.

Could what the military know is that we're inching closer and closer to having an outright WWIII thanks to biden's feckless moves across the mideast and
beyond where besides Iran and its proxies we see China and Russia gearing up to join their anti American enemies.
