It really became obvious when Eric Cantor was destroyed politically because he was willing to negotiate.

I also remember the 9/11 truthers and people claiming they will move to Canada if GW was reelected.

Those felt more extreme at the time. Today, they would be expected.

Finally, it became painfully obvious when Megan Kelly was absolutely diserted by Fox and "grab her by the..." became defensible. The GOP I supported in 2000 and 2004 was gone. Compassionate conservatism was dead. Time to pick sides.

To me, the 24/7 "news" channel really screwed things up.

MSG (aka Captain Billy) has been a Moderator here for a long time. 'Policing' this place has to be a toll on your personal life and overall attitude. I have no idea what his political or religious views are.

I do know he personally SAVED the Forum from the Amazonerds when they first arrived. Each one snitching out and 'Reporting' the other for some perceived injustice. The Amazon Forum, composed of 'Book-Reader' types, turned into a Vipers Nest, filled with Snakes. Billy was the Lone Sentinel, the Guard on the Watch Tower, Savior of the Forum, ... from the Amazonerd Hordes and their Snakes, Rats, and Informants that infested JPP on their arrival.

Say what you will, but Statues will be erected, Streets will be renamed, Songs will be Sung, honoring Billy.
