OK, it turns out, my brother was downloading something off of Steam, and my internet was literally going at 10 KBPS, dial-up speed. 150 KBPS is tolerable, not ideal, but tolerable. 10 KBPS is fucking infuriating, unusable. I was slowly getting angrier and angrier at the internet, and did not realize that my brother had put me in dialup territory.

Steam literally takes up more bandwidth than bittorrent. Incredible.
