This is about angry right white demanding 100% of everything cater to them and that NO PORTION be woke pandering to the emerging and growing buyers who are PoC and women.

Good points. An underlying subtext here to their poutrage over Disney revamps including more diverse actors is "OMG they are trying to brainwash our kids!" As you correctly pointed out, Disney and all other entertainment providers -- whether it's TV programming, streaming, movies, music, theater, even sports -- are here to make money. They make money not by trying to "brainwash" or influence culture, but by reflecting it. They watch trends and tailor their offerings accordingly.

All this whining about the revamps by these aging white bigots is exactly as you said -- they fear and hate change and realize at some level that the asteroid has already hit, and that their kind is doomed.

Even in this lie (owning Disney stock) you are not smart enough to make the lie credible.


You keep speaking to being a long term buyer of Disney stock across decades and the amount you own is not small for you, and YET you say things that show you have no understanding of the stock and how any long term GOOD investment strategy would have had you VERY FOCUSED on those dividends and reinvesting them in buying more stock. That is the main way you get a multiple on the gains over decades.

The nicest thing i can say about this teary white cohort from the right, is that it is genuinely hard to see when you are the one being woke pandered to and that has been the norm since your birth.

I say that sincerely. If you grow up and pretty much 100% of the faces you see in major roles, regardless of whether the person being played was a real life PoC, is a white person (male) then you won't notice that as strange. It is your norm.

What you will notice is the first day a black face is picked to play a role. That will stand out to you as it is not the norm you are used to.

So that begins a stage or either REFLECTION or REACTION.

A smart person 'reflects' and says 'yes indeed, historically us white people have been woke pandered to for over a hundred years so we should be ok with the pandering shifting a few percent as that OTHER audiences grow'.

A dump person who simply 'reacts' says 'NO...No...No... this has always been about me and me getting all the woke pandering. I do not want to share it. It must all be done to me historically and in the future'.


That is the core of MAGA. It is about saying the past, when the only concern of government and media, etc was the white male (PoC and Women had no rights nor income) was when America was 'great'. When they got all the focus. That is what they want America taken back to.

Still, I don't believe that people have an inalienable right to never be offended or feel uncomfortable.

If you don't like a movie, walk out.

Or have an idea of what you're going to see.

I guess that WOKE is very frustrating to me because my party loses votes over it.

I care about a more comprehensive social safety net, universal healthcare, more regulations on corporatism, and better and more accessible education.

If candidates who could work toward these things lose
